The NRL TV Deal - Predictions page
Dear Members,
I've noticed there has been a ridiculous amount of hoo-haa in here about just how much the NRL will get for their upcoming tv deal. So this is the page to actually make a prediction so when the deal is finally made we can look at each others predictions and call them either legend or the biggest fukkstick to prance within the hallowed fight club halls.
So please post your prediction up for recording and for all to see :D
Kind regards,
King

there was a time I believed the NRL would not match the AFL deal & would secure just over 1 billion
thats split up with all the bells & whistles added
now I believe the NRL will get the biggest deal in Australian TV History
1.275 Bill
with ratings going through the roof ATM
with our dominance of Pay TV looking like it will never end
we can't & won't be denied our rigtful place as the holder of the biggest TV deal in Australia

Get back to work dikk brain and pay some more bloody taxes. Its a fact that uni students go on to get higher paying jobs and therefore pay more taxes. I'd say a bum like you who winges about uni students doesn't pay enough taxes... But you sure like to blame others now dont you?AFL Warrior wrote:What a stupid thread, but what would you expect from a bludging feral university student?
Now please don't respond to me Neanderthal. Call Allan Jones, he'll listen to you.

After taking into consideration a number of factors. Things like actual time on air and markets reached i have decided to hazard a guess at the $1.25 Billlion.
AFL Worrior (for me will now always be "Comic Book Warrior") may not like the thread because he doesn't want to actually want to put a prediction. He would like to say low but knows it will be high and can't bring himself to admit just how high? Come on "Comic Book Warrior" have a go.

So you think a game that only has 3 FTA games a week and is only broadcast in NSW and QLD before midnight, will attract $1.25 Billion?MarkZZZ wrote:After taking into consideration a number of factors. You do realise the current NRL broadcasting rights are only worth $500 millioin? Do you honestly think tv networks will pay almost triple what they pay now for a product that is only broadcast in two markets before midnight? Dreaming I tell ya.

will be broadcast nationally in prime time from 2013 too .. with the minmum requirement being secondary digital channels in the Sthn States
the current deal is 500 mill only because we got diddeld .. it should have been at least the same as the AFL's
broadcasters want the NRL ... it is a ratings powerhouse as this season has proved .. its the only sport increasing its share
it is a juggernaut
split up cleverly .. yes , they will pay more then double what they did for the present deal.

Blah, blah, blah. Heard it all before from you throwball fans. Keep dreaming of a payday that matches the AFL. You know that day will never come. The gap gets bigger and bigger each time the AFL signs off on another tv deal. Your fantasies are however hilarious to read. Keep em coming.Raiderdave wrote:it will be a minimum of 4 FTA games a week from 2013Beaussie wrote:So you think a game that only has 3 FTA games a week and is only broadcast in NSW and QLD before midnight, will attract $1.25 Billion?MarkZZZ wrote:After taking into consideration a number of factors. I think Beau is a classic example of the AFL fan who has not realized the world has changed or was perhaps always different.
The new TV deal will be fundamentally different from the current with more games on FTA,seperate packaging for tests.origin,NRL games
He must have missed the comments from organizations like Telstra who have already said that they realise they will have to pay the NRL the same amount they paid the AFL. Telstra was along with Foxtel one of the reasons the AFL dollars increased. Perhaps he missed the "die in the ditches" comments from Channel 9 to keep the NRL and they know they will have to pay significantly more.
Perhaps he missed the fact that NRL last year and this has a higher aggregate TV audience than the AFL.
Perhaps he missed the fact that in the next 5 years two more NRL teams will appear.
Perhaps he missed the fact that the high rating Toyota Cup will be included.
Perhaps he doesnt know that 66% of all advertising dollars in this country are spent in NSW/QLD
Mr Dylan was correct as "the times are changing" indeed

Gallop has said that will not be the case along with Channel 9 who have contract they will enforce.enarelle wrote:The new TV deal will be fundamentally different from the current with more games on FTA,seperate packaging for tests.origin,NRL games
Link please. That's the first I've heard of that.enarelle wrote:He must have missed the comments from organizations like Telstra who have already said that they realise they will have to pay the NRL the same amount they paid the AFL.

LOL, yes in the already saturated markets of NSW and QLD. Meanwhile the AFL has already added 2 new team in non heartland areas. That's what expansion should be about.enarelle wrote:Perhaps he missed the fact that in the next 5 years two more NRL teams will appear.
LOL... Toyota Cup now thrown in the mix. Oh well we have the Foxtel Cup I guess.enarelle wrote:Perhaps he missed the fact that the high rating Toyota Cup will be included.
NOT on Rugby League. What a dumb thing to say. Relevance?enarelle wrote:Perhaps he doesnt know that 66% of all advertising dollars in this country are spent in NSW/QLD
Like I said before, your throwball fans are all the same. Keep dreaming.enarelle wrote:Mr Dylan was correct as "the times are changing" indeed
