Yes, I think the CEOs just don't know what they are doing - how they ended up running a multi-billion dollar company is beyond me.

Never the less, its a a company that has lost money for the past few years, And given the downturn in ratings and crowds again this year - Gil might'nt get the send off he wants.Fred wrote: Mon Jul 04, 2022 3:26 pmYes, I think the CEOs just don't know what they are doing - how they ended up running a multi-billion dollar company is beyond me.

Re: Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
with the AFL maybe looking at 2.7 to 2.8 Billion per year for there 2025 to 2029 Tv DEal
I am very interested on what the NRL tv DEal would get 2027 to 2031
with an extra team = 18 teams

AFL deal will likely be 5 or 6 years, not 4.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Tue Jul 05, 2022 12:17 amwith the AFL maybe looking at 2.7 to 2.8 Billion per year for there 2025 to 2029 Tv DEal

of around 140mill upgrade with inflation and FOX getting more exclusive games throughout the year.
which would bring it 2.550 to around 2.7-2.8 bill
alot remains uncertain though due to the fact of expansion of 10th game
AFL House told bidders to offer two bids one on a 9th game and other on a 10th game

Re: Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
NRL just got 150mill just for adding a 17th team
imagen an 18th team which brings in a 9th game..
(Reports FOX want a 18th team PROMTO and be done for a 9:30pm Saturday Kick off from Perth)
Locks up the entire Saturday broadcast schedule for 9 hours
this was discussed in Brisbane and in Perth with commission.

what a fucking disaster that would be , a tiny little franchise in Hobart ... that over time will struggle
& a 3rd invented plastic Perth team diluting support for the 2 existing teams there
oh please do it

Re: Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
Yep Gil will want this finalised soon. I’m still hopeful of a big payday and new broadcasters in Channel 10 and Paramount+ or the rights split between broadcasters. I think Channel 7’s coverage has become stale. How sad that they tone down the crowd noise and atmosphere in their coverage.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 10:51 amdetails will come alight soon i think>>

Re: Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
Yeah I actually liked the old days of Channel 10’s coverage with Before the Game on Saturday nights and 10 News giving a heap more news coverage of the AFL in their nightly news, along with promoting upcoming games.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 11:32 amit is like channel 7 has taken AFL for granted in it's coverage and it sucksBeaussie wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 11:26 amYep Gil will want this finalised soon. Channel 7 are very poor when it come to 7 News Sydney and it’s not like it would be hard to include AFL news stories during the week when your the official broadcaster with a slogans saying how much “we just love the footy” and “your home of the footy”.

Re: Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
yeah channel 10 did a good job,
they only really lost it because of backroom politics and outbidded by joint bidders.
cricket Australia did the same went for a little more money
and look what ch7 did to the cricket.. oh dear.
