ohh boy..
if you are looking at the A League first 4 rounds so far..
it would be the worse season ever..
crowds and ratings.

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
speaking of crowds
it may not be football either
but what the F has happened to BBL crowds in the last 5 years ??
5 years ago you couldn't get a crowd in Brisbane under 25K & a few cracked 30K
Adelaide never under 40K & up to 50K
the Sydney derby got 42K at the SCG
there was crowds of up to 80K in Melbourne
now
cracking 10K anywhere is not too bad
I mean

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
maybe a factor , but it can't be the only reason
literally the ass has fallen out of the game day attendances in less then half a decade.

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
Looks like the power of TV $$ has ruined the match day attendances in cricket now too then
Its been happening in RL since super league (24 years ) , with unfriendly crowd kickoff times
Monday Nights
Thursday nights
6pm Fridays
But TV pays most of the bills these days so its what it is.
I see the AFL is now bowing down to TV in this dept too with lots of Thursday night games in 2022. Watch people get sick of attending games in this time slot with work , school etc the following day. The TV will become a very viable alternative.
Maybe the TV ratings might become a real contest between the codes in 2022

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
2351 at AAMI park on Friday night for western united game
The Melb derby last night also at AAMI park was a long way from being full , probs 18,000 odd
that'd be the smallest crowd for that match i can recall
& TV ratings are as bad as they've ever been.
but............ some American company has pumped significant money into the comp buying out 33% ownership
seriously ?
Talk about pissing it up against the wall

I think the NRL dominated the SOO series quite easily…oh that’s right AFL doesn’t have them…
What else did they dominate?….constantly stating how they dominate they AFL when they don’t?
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
I didn't realise the AFL GF out rated the NRL GF by so much and absolutely slaughtered SoO - I get that is is just capital cities - and not all of them with Tassie left out - but still. And wasn't the NRL grand final primed with two states having a team with AFL a local derby of two pretty low supported clubs.
