Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
PACKED STADIUMS ALLOWED IN WA NEXT MONTH
Western Australia’s chance of an AFL hub just got even better with the state government announcing half-full stadiums are allowed from this weekend, and full stadiums from July 18.
That would mean 30,000 fans would be permitted into Optus Stadium if West Coast or Fremantle were hosting a game this weekend, and 60,000 from next month.
With the Dockers and particularly the Eagles desperate to get back home, and Victoria facing a spike in COVID-19 cases, it means the league may be even more keen to send clubs across the Nullarbor to play matches.
Fremantle and West Coast will remain in their WA hub until at least Round 5 (the weekend of July 4-5), meaning they could have full crowds for games at home in Round 7.
Currently the highest permitted crowd capacity in the country is in Queensland, with 10,000 fans to be allowed into the Gabba for Brisbane’s clash with Adelaide.

One minute it’s “it’s all the opposition supporters at game”.... have they suddenly disappeared lol
There is a virus scare in Brisbane by the way ... just saying.... or isn’t that an issue now ???? Lol. Desperate a little??

and that the AFL was heading to Northern States. the 2 hubs,
they were saying we may get bigger crowds than "Rugby"
the AFL Hub in NSW should base it self out of Olympic Park and we will get 30k
(they said the same with QLD Crowds, that they would get the 25% capacity it will be great for the fans of QLD.

I think the AFL is in front....and will stay there. (A lot of crowds are going unreported from all codes at the moment)Quolls2019 wrote: Tue Apr 07, 2020 2:37 pmYes this year if things don’t go back to some kind of normality the NRL might actually win the crowd numbers. They have managed this crisis, in the longer term, better so far, despite the earlier criticism they copped.

Great Move by the NRL>
Will play SEMI FINAL Parra v Souths at Bankwest 30k stadium
instead of ANZ OLYMPIC PARK 80k stadium ...
Shock Horror. dumb move, especially with the lift to 50% attendance.

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
Been an interesting year.
I suppose if just crowds are the main factor, the AFL grand final would be in Perth.
It is a bit of a stretch to count crowds as any kind of indicator this year.
If you look at the Reported average crowd For Super Rugby Australia, they have done very well.....except that about 70% of their attendance went un reported.
I will not be using any figures from this year in my stats.
