Can you show me an article about these articles every few years calling for Australian Rules Football to become an Olympic sport as you state there are? I know there are the odd article about players who maybe would do well in a spurt at the Olympics which are just fluff pieces but if there is an article calling for Australian rules football to become an Olympic sport I would indeed agree with you that such calls, if serious, is not only stupid but idiotic. So we are on the same page there AFLcrap.

I really couldn’t be too bothered going back to an article AFLcrap but will have a look to keep you happy. I’m stuck watching MAFS so why not lol. I do think you should remember that me and most others (all 4 of us) just read the last post and respond (usually when on the loo) to kill some time. We don’t really care that much although sometimes I do get sucked in ... but purely on a superficial level.... we don’t have files on things and don’t view it as a competition or at all seriously.

Okay read the article and can see why your a bit confused. That taking things literally. Yes there is an AFI that is not affiliated with the AFL that is keen on developing an abridged version of the game along the lines of aflx. The person who runs that was putting forth that such “novelty” type games are popping up at the olympics and in 20 years could this version. Of Australian rules be at the olympics. The reporter points out that most of us would laugh and say “pie in the sky” type stuff. The reporter then points out with things like e-gaming and rick wall climbing going into the games ... something unthinkable 20 years ago ... then maybe it’s not so fanciful. But it is and we all know it. Not sure why this had been bumped over and over. I would blame it on possibly being isolated but thinking that’s not an issue here.

Anyway... hope that helps. For what it’s worth I think it’s pie in the sky .... but stranger things have happened particularly with Olympic sports and the AFL have deep pockets .... well did lol.

AFL ant going to be an Olympic sport but the article did postulate the craziness of the olympics picking weird sports and some bloke thought maybe an abridged version could get a run in 20 years ... the reporter rightly points out this is pie in the sky stuff.
