The AFL profit is posted a few threads back Fred . Yes it is good. Slightly Less profit then the NRL. and only slightly less revenue for the 2019 season.

Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million

Probably, but they started 20 years behind. They've already caught up in some areas, there catching up in all the rest.The_Wookie wrote: Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:53 pmSo what? they are still 238 million behind. This is like claiming an improvement award is better than a gold medal. ffs.

But, as stated. Our Revenue and our profit for 2019 were greater than yours
Its just another example of the AFL coming 2nd.

Re: Fight Club - 2019 Financials
Have they caught up ? Maybe a graph of revenue difference over the years ........ profit is a rubbery figure as it depends on what you are prepared to spend. Two companies could earn 100 mil. One may have more overheads this is true therefore the other may be more profitable but the other also may not invest as much back into the company ... line in R and D or new equipment etc. or in growing the business. I think where you have a company that is earning significantly more revenue, is seem to be expanding, is placing significantly more back into its business, and still flogging its main competitor than if investing you’d be looking at that company over the competitor.
The NRL are not expanding into new markets. They may get a new team in Brisbane and this may increase revenue from broadcast deals but they have no new markets on their horizon. The main expansion is outside their business and that is overseas. This could be seen as competition to the NRL as another business doing the same thing. The NRL may be able to value add through WC and RWC however. However it is also a threat give. The size of potential markets overseas and the possibility players may be poached from NRL and weaken local comp long term?

What I said Fred, I'm not sure if you have reading difficulties, they are catching up in any areas that they haven't already. I am well aware what profit is Fred.
Origin , tests, the Pacific Europe - the rest of the word. While AFL still has Tasmania to look forward to - good luck
I wonder what business looks more sound

Re: Fight Club - 2019 Financials
That is correct. RL has far more potential to expand the business. The pacific islands. Europe. North America. WA. There is already a presence in all those markets and if done right there are massive upsides to come.pussycat wrote: Sat Feb 29, 2020 11:39 amWhat I said Fred, I'm not sure if you have reading difficulties, they are catching up in any areas that they haven't already. The AFL has just about maxed out in Australia. The only possible expansion is little Tassy. But that is already a heartland state so won't bring much new.
And there is zero chance of anything happening outside Australia. It's been tried and repeatedly failed. Some folk here will say the AFL don't care about overseas expansion. This is demonstratively incorrect as I have shown on numerous previous occasions. Remember Gilty saying Auckland should have a team before they got frog marched outta NZ?? They would dearly love to get something serious going somewhere outside Australia. Anywhere. But it ain't gonna happen.
