Nope two different games
Or otherwise
AFl is a simplistic rip off of netball .
Nope, league came from union and both are considered rugby.

About Rugby League
From the history of Rugby League
“Rugby League is a full contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular grass field. One of the two codes of rugby football, it originated as a split from the Rugby Football Union in England in 1895 over the issue of payments to players. Its rules were then gradually changed.

Netball
The history of netball can be traced to the early development of basketball. A year after basketball was invented in 1891, the sport was modified for women to accommodate social conventions regarding their participation in sport, giving rise to women's basketball. Variations of women's basketball arose across the United States and in England. At the Bergman Österberg physical training college in Dartford, England, the rules of women's basketball were modified over several years to form an entirely new sport: "net ball"[1]. The first codified rules of netball were published at the start of the twentieth century, and from there the new sport spread throughout the British Empire.

Can’t see where netball has anything to do with Australian Football as it came from basketball which has nothing to do with Australian Rules either. Whilst to deny the relationship between the rugby codes is to be in denial.

The closest similarity is the logic of the names, Basket and Ball, basketball, foot and ball, football, chuck and ball, Chuckball

AFl is a simplistic rip off of netball .
given both rugbys are played on the same size fields, main objective is to run in a line with your team mates, throw the ball side ways all whilst trying to get ball over a line to then jump on the ball chest down to score a try! or the fact league is just a dumbed down version of union and is pretty much only played where union is!

as to afl to net ball! ones playerd on a grass oval and is contact and goal is to kick the ball through some sticks, to net ball played usually on a rectangular, playing field, usually timber, a non contact, non contact and aim is to throw the ball in to a hoop :hmm:

nice of you to share your understanding of the different sports

Rugby League came out of Rugby Union - but agree they are different games nowadays but very similar. A bit like how touch has developed into its own game.

At least in netball you don't get a point for missing!!!!!! And the girls seem to control the ball better than the hapless players in AFL. It's kind of a fumbled down version of netball!!!!!!

Owned? The NRL own the federation of International touch? In australia Touch Football has an agreement with the NRL that is seen as mutually beneficial. This is part of the Federation of International Touch agenda to work in conjunction with local established organisations to grow the game of Touch Football. In other countries are there similar deals with Rugby Union Clubs.

Touch football very much sees itself as a separate sport with its own identity. I posted an article from their website a long time ago that goes through the history of football with the point being that Touch is the newest form of football. I will see if I can find it.

Then there is NRL League Touch is however -

NRL League Touch is an Alternate format of Touch Football which has been developed in partnership with both Touch Football Australia (TFA) & the National ...

Rugby League was derived from Union - you agree with this and state they are different. Touch was derived from League (/) but you don't see them as different? Hypocrisy?

Also - what is touch overseas - is it considered another sport because it is not working with the NRL there? A sport is not defined not by who is in partnership with it - the governing body see it as a separate sport. Wish I could find that article. It is on this forum somewhere.

From humble beginnings

The sport of touch football was developed in the 1950s to provide winter sports participants of rugby union and rugby league with a way to keep fit over the summer months. Touch has since developed into a truly national pastime and has become a

sport in its own right.

Australia is one of 33 member countries to the Federation of International Touch which was
founded in Melbourne in 1985.

Australia is also the clear leader among 19 nations competing for the World Cup, and the Australian women’s team has never been beaten in international competition.

so what is touch in these other countries lol.
