How does this impact deadlines ? If it’s up to pollies who knows who long and who knows if they change their mind.

Great question Fred.
I seem to remember construction starting the very next day from the end of official events when both the MCG and Kardinia were getting re-developed to ensure the re-opening was on time.
The same urgency seems to be lacking in this situation....

Surely they were interstate teams playing in shit weather?Fred wrote: Sun Jul 28, 2019 3:08 pmGee ...looking at today’s game best get that ANZ stadium rebuild done ASAP .... with crowds this bad a new stadium is a must. All those people burning to go if not for that stadium .
I'd imagine the AFL match in Sydney at the same time would've been affected too.

You’d think that but I switched over and it seemed a half decent crowd considering swans are like 4th last on the ladder.

Just checked.
50% larger than the biggest NRL crowd for the round and 3 times the game in Sydney at about the same time.
If the AFL is the "world least popular sport" where does that leave RL in this country?

So you’re saying the Sydney Swans... a team playing a code of football people in Sydney apparently hate got three times the amount of people to their game then any Rugby League game played around the same time in Sydney. Surely you jest. Sydney people hate AFL I’m told.

I'm no jester......
That's precisely what happened.
And Sydney were playing an interstate team, where the NRL was a local Derby.
If they hate AFL, what's their thoughts of RL then?

But but ..... Sydney people hate AFL ....there’s no real interest apart from a few Chardonnay sipping north shore wannabes ....who are also apparently racist bogans .... it just doesn’t make sense.

Re: Sydney Football Stadium rebuild in chaos as Lendlease leaves project
over blown story that is for sure..
Stage 1 done by LEND LEASE (DEMOLITION) is almost complete>
they have come in too expensive > so they are have been sacked
New Building company will be selected and construction will be as normal.
and will prob be under budget..
just like BANKWEST STADIUM was..

The future of the Sydney Football Stadium project is in doubt, with the NSW Government seeking a new builder as the Moore Park site lies in ruins.
lol the development is not in doubt..
(did you just read the headline) ??
the only thing that is in doubt was LEND LEASE completing the job>>
NEW Construction company will be employed to finish the job.
(SFS will be on schedule )”
Just so we all know the agreed cost and schedule:
$730 mill. Demolition and construction.
2/2022 completion, although today I saw a couple of reports that it was expected that soccer and rugby would be played there in 2021.
“having a builder quit halfway through would be a crisis but sports minister John Sidoti confidently claims the project is still on track.
He says he will simply put the contract out to tender again and find a new, cheaper builder who can finish by 2021 when rugby league and soccer games are supposed to return.”

There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.
