Well the good 'ol Australian Fumbling League is at it again!!!! They've got the players association to to stick their nose into the SCG wicket argument.

They say they have received many reports from footballers claiming to have suffered injuries on the cricket pitch area. When questioned further they said they don't have any actual facts or figures just anecdotal reports. In other words they don't know.......they just made it up lololololol.

Funnily enough there is a report made by the AFL itself into injuries at each venue between 2001-9. It shows the SCG had the lowest in the whole comp lolololololol!!!!! Yep......the safest ground in the land. Unsurprisingly the AFL refused to comment on this report. No numbers have been released since. Kinda like the Lawson report. If the news is not what you want keep it secret for ever more.

I particularly liked the reason given by Gilty and the boys as to why they want a drop in pitch.......to make the game more aesthetically pleasing lololol!!! I've got a tip for Gilty........it's gonna take a hell of a lot more to make the mess watchable than replacing the cricket pitch lololololol!!!!!!!!

It was brutal!
The weather didn't help...
But,
The centre pitch area was so fecking hard.
It was much much safer to play around it.

Safety first I say.

They arent making it up. It just means players are saying they are slipping over, and its not a complaint they seem to get elsewhere. Direct quote:

"We don't have a firm view on whether AFL venues should have cricket pitches or not," AFLPA chief Paul Marsh told the Herald. "What we do have a firm view on is the venues need to be safe from a player's perspective. The challenge for a venue like the SCG is can they retain the pitch but keep it at an acceptably safe level?

"We have anecdotal reports that players are being injured by slipping on the pitch, which is unusual. That's not something you see on venues where there isn't a cricket pitch in it. Are there ways to make the pitch surface the same hardness as the rest of the ground?

"It is the Sydney Cricket Ground, we get that. But at the same time the challenge for these venues is to make sure they're acceptably safe."

Ill also note that I have no idea what report this is. Its not in the league annual report which covers injuries and its not in the leagues injury reports for 2009-2010. Cant find it anywhere.
