Re: Rugby league leaders leading the way for a better Australia
Are you thick in the noggin?
Do you at all recall what happened to goodesy in the twighlight of his amazing career which included two brownlows and best and fairest awards?
For your info nlol ya racist supporting troll. I’m claiming Goodes was never booed en masse, never booed to the 0.001% degree of what he was booed after he publicly took a stand and said no, racists don’t deserve to be in AFL crowds, and pointed that racist girl out and asked her to be escorted out of the ground. It’s crystal clear the thousands upon thousands of racist AFL fans didn’t like that and took it upon themselves to boo Goodes out of the game. Cowardly, like yourself nlol, the majority hid behind false accusations that Goodes was a dirty player.

Oh here we go again.
KE how can you continue to suggest ALL AFL fans are racist when reality is completely the opposite? I for one, like thousands of other footy fans love Goodsey and never booed. A loud minority in some crowds does not suggest it’s the entire AFL crowd.

Im sorry, but people are not booing Adam Goodes because hes Aboriginal.
They’re booing him because he acts like a pillock from time to time.
And if Sydney Swans CEO Andrew Ireland is genuinely interested in race relations then he shouldn’t cry “racist” with no evidence.
It’s obvious to any footy-lover that the fans boo Goodes because:
1. It’s become a thing;
2. He deliberately taunts opposition fans;
3. He is accused of staging for free kicks, in contravention of the rules of fair play
4. No one has forgotten how he singled out a 13 year old girl in the Collingwood crowd and sicced security onto her after she called him an “ape”;
5. He was rewarded for outing this powerless little girl with the honour of Australian of the Year which he then turned into a grievance pulpit to bag Australia as a racist nation.
Unlike most sports gurus in this town, I loved Goodes’ indigenous war dance last month as the Swans beat Carlton. For one thing, it’s about time we beat the Kiwis and their haka at their own game.
For another, he just did it so well. Bravo, I say. He stole the show.
But he also served it up to the opposition fans, deliberately riling them up. That’s what he does.
So when he gets booed, it’s just the crowd’s natural response to his invitation. It’s a tough game that Goodes started and only he can finish.
But for sports administrators and sanctimonious journalists to denounce the crowds as somehow anti-Aboriginal is the real racism. It’s that sort of patronising victim-pandering that holds Aboriginals down.
If Adam Goodes wants to be a pillock, good for him. He will be booed like any other pillock, no matter what the colour of their skin.

Re: Rugby league leaders leading the way for a better Australia
Australian cricket great Shane Warne earlier tweeted in defence of those who booed Goodes at AFL matches, saying "it's nothing to do with being racist".
"This whole Adam Goodes drama is ridiculous. The public can boo or chant whoever's name they want! It's nothing to do with being racist... ," Warne wrote.
"If the public don't like a sportsman because of the way they play the game, they boo, if they like them they cheer, nothing to do re racism."

Re: Rugby league leaders leading the way for a better Australia
Another Brownlow medallist, former Lions player Jason Akermanis, said Goodes should "stop looking like a sook" and "stop trying to play the victim".

Re: Rugby league leaders leading the way for a better Australia
Here's why I think the crowds booed Goodes.
He was clearly a talented player but also became known for playing for free kicks and would even occasionally snipe players behind the play. Yet he portrayed himself as a clean player and was even awarded with the best and fairest medal and Australian of the year.
Crowds began booed him just like they boo other players who act as if they play in the spirit of the game but in reality do not. However, he and the media instantly claimed this was race motivated which got a lot of fans very angry. Hence the booing became a protest from people who believe they are free to express their dislike for a player and their behaviour without it being about race and without being labeled as a racist.

Re: Rugby league leaders leading the way for a better Australia
Here's an example. James Hird was a great player but failed his players and his club by his involvement in the drug saga. This made him very unpopular **** AFL fans and he was booed for it. If he had then claimed the booing was racially motivated because of his Irish roots the crowds would have protested by booing even louder

if it were purely racially based other indigenous players would also be booed.AFLcrap1 wrote: Wed Feb 20, 2019 8:28 amLol GIl the dill Made a bigger dill out of himself for apologising ..for nothing .

Eddie Betts has openly stood up to racism twice in the last 2 years but isnt booed at all. In fact he's fairly universally popular

I’m sorry nlol, I know you desperately want to feel fine and dandy about the thousands upon thousands who booed Goodes. And you’ve made quite a lil argument here haven’t you....so desperateNlolRL wrote: Wed Feb 20, 2019 7:44 amhttps://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/rende ... 6c8cdb7002

Problem for you and the other cowards who don’t wanna admit the bleeding obvious nlol is the facts completely smash your argument that Goodes was a provocateur.
Fact - Goodes was called an ape by a girl, he didn’t provoke her in any way.
Fact - Goodes was being booed by the Carlton cheer squad during the game and before his war dance not for dirty play during the game but instead for each and every time he touched the ball.
So who’s the provocateur nlol? What a pathetic argument you’ve stacked up. And you wrote so much you poor thing. Open those eyes and ears nlol

Re: Rugby league leaders leading the way for a better Australia
Fact, people dont like being told if they boo someone because they're a dickhead it's instantly racist because the person is black.
That's why he got a chorus of boos and why others who have stood up to racism have not received any boos
The Carlton cheer squad booed Goodes because he was deliberately provocative towards them. If any other player had made aggressive actions towards an opposition crowd after a goal they would have received the same
