What's more, Fremantle was one of the powerhouses of the WAFL so they had a massive supporter base to begin with even before they joined the AFL

I know that introducing a new AFL club into a city of 200k where most people are already invested in existing AFL clubs, is a recipe for failure. 4. Geelong were not introduced into an already mature national competition like a new team in Hobart would be. They had no problems developing a supporter base because they were one of the first
