??????????????7 mate, why is this a problem???????????????????? The people of Perth know how to use a remote. They've been changing channels for years.
Well Perth and Adelaide are the two heartland cities which get additional FTA games. Melbourne get 2 less games of AFL on FTA than the NRL in Sydney and Brisbane.pussycat wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 9:41 amBoo who , why did the AFL let them into there comp in the first place,

Perth are our second biggest market and have 2 clubs. NZ ratings would be miles behindAFLcrap1 wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 11:24 amA never ending list of excuses .
I sincerely hope that one day WA catches up to the rest of civilised society & remotes are sold with TV sets .
As for the Perth excuse
Lol
We could use the NZ excuse ...they play here at 7.30... then that is a 9.30 start on tv over there .
Which affects ratings .
Then again we don't need the Warriors ratings from NZ .....we thrash the AFL without them .
Also the AFL games from Perth are still counted in the AFL ratings .
So stop your fucking bitching .
Just putting context on you BS claim the AFL have a FTA advantage.AFLcrap1 wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 11:42 amOh dear .
Up is down
Black is white
Welcome to the world of the AFL zealot
Yes, we are obviously better off having Perth's two sides, but having them 2-3hours different from the east is bad for ratings. The NRL has a big advantage having all teams bar 1 in the same time zoneleeroy*NRL* wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 11:02 amadvantages and disadvantages of having a Perth team in a national competition .
i see alot more positive than negative though..
the NRL will have the same issues when a Perth team is admitted to the league.
That additional FTA makes a hell of lot of difference . When either Freemantle or West Coast are shown the Perth ratings are 2 or 3 times higher, and that's on either 7mate or the main channel.NlolRL wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 11:35 amWell Perth and Adelaide are the two heartland cities which get additional FTA games. You bang on about the AFL's FTA advantage yet looking at Perth's FTA schedule they are well disadvantaged overall.
- They get 2/3rds of their games on 7mate which rates an average of only 70k for Thursday and Friday games.
- They only get 2 games after 6pm for the entire year where their local teams play
- 3 games for the local club are on significant delay.
- A number of their games for their local clubs start at a TV unfriendly 11am
- All Friday and Thursday games start during peak hour and run at the same time as the 6pm news
Yeah, on balance they are considerably disadvantaged on FTA. Combine that with Melbourne less games on FTA, with a few being on 7 mate and it's the NRL who seem to have the FTA advantage.
I've checked the ratings and that is blatantly untrue. Fremantle and the Eagles rate around 120-170 on FTA where as other games rate around 80.pussycat wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:16 pm

All I can see is your pathetic endless list of excuses for getting silver .
Better luck next year.
well if the NRL say it Im sure it's true. No doubt you'd believe a similar claim from the AFLleeroy*NRL* wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 1:33 pmNZ Ratings are on SKY SPORTS (pay tv)NlolRL wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:07 pmPerth are our second biggest market and have 2 clubs. New Zealand games going on past years 3-4 years ago rated pretty well over 100k every game.
and Australian club teams ratings in NZ for SKY SPORTS were around 30k mark
which for the time zone with Thursday Friday games kicking off at 10pm is pretty good.
NRL reported N.Z ratings had lifted by 20% this year
so it actually a large figure over the course of a season.
