not so much the errors or small knock on's
more play around the ruck tackles in detail, short balls, grounding of the ball..
at the ground much of everything looks ok. until you see it on T.V
Tv Picks up attention to detail
it is like that with alot of sports, but in my opinion more so in the Rugby Codes.
I personally rather watch AFL on TV for the same reasons. Attention to detail, hard to see what's happening around the contest live. Even moreso now as our game has big congestion problems. And especially if you don't have seats on the wing, which can be hard to get. The other end of the ground is a long way away if you're behind the goals. I think it's 170 odd long at the MCG.
Though in AFL the ball can naturally swing from one end of the ground to the other, and will happen more in an game - do you think that's why it's considered better live compared to the NRL, sort of a close up more often?
When you're personally at NRL games (do you guys go?) do you think it's worse because the ball is more likely to get stuck down the other end for an extended period?
I found everything looked close at Aami Park and it makes for awesome viewing. But maybe that's because I'm used to sitting level 3 at the G.
good comment..
the issues you raised all come in to calculation..
I do attend games just not my own team but other teams.. approx 10 a year.
and i refuse to attend Olympic Pk as you are along way from the field.
the big issue in the Rugby Codes, is you can get games where there is barley any play down
one side of the field.. there are even games where no TRYS are scored one side of the ground.
can be luck of the draw on what seats you do get. to actually see the best parts of the game..
if you have got the best seats at a good ground, Rugby League is great to watch..
but they are usually to Gold Members and are taken.
