CHANNEL 9 must remember exactly where its loyalties lie.
The network, locked in a fierce battle to retain the game’s broadcast rights, has enjoyed a strong 20-year marriage with rugby league.
And they want the TV rights for another five years.
Their rugby union commitment to the World Cup is a one-off over just seven weeks. To shun a live NRL semi-final for a rah-rah Test against world plodders and kick-happy Ireland would be a disgrace. It would be an insult to every rugby league fan.
Nine must be loyal to the viewers that tune in every Friday and Sunday throughout winter.
Rugby league’s ratings murder union. That is fact.
Just last week, the national average for State of Origin III was a staggering 3.765 million viewers. And to further illustrate league’s television dominance, 73 of the top rating pay-TV shows last year were NRL.
Nine better prepare for a whopping backlash if they cave in and show a game they completely dismiss for the four years between each World Cup.
Origin!

Just because you have'nt got them or have'nt bothered to put them up doesnt mean they don't exist. According to your website Origin 2 figures dont exist yet either :roll

I haven't put them up yet because they haven't been released/posted yet for crying out loud.pussycat wrote:Just because you have'nt got them or have'nt bothered to put them up doesnt mean they don't exist. According to your website Origin 2 figures dont exist yet either :roll
Fair dinkum, rather than going by the propaganda of the NSWRL or what Dean Ritchie tells you in the Daily Telegraph, perhaps in future you could look to the official source of regional tv ratings. Care to point out where Origin 2 or 3 tv ratings have been released/posted?

So that's it eh? Can't use the official source to back up your claims so you resort to the above. Pathetic Raider but not unexpected I must say. Rest assured though, I will post the regional ratings once available from the official source. Will bookmark this thread too. Wonder if you'll comment then? Hmm

I cant wait for these figures to come out Beaussie. I worry for you though as I have a real strong feeling this Origin 3 match was pretty much what Raider myself and Pussycat says, Booooooddyy HUGE!Beaussie wrote:So that's it eh? If the official figures are within 200,000 of Raiders predictions could you change your username to "Ostrich flap flap" for one week Beaussie?
Perhaps if Raider does something similar?

Put your usernames where your mouths are

Whether or not the figures have been posted on the Nielson website is totally irrelevant. The figures are well known and have been realsed on many media organisations. If you want to hold of and wait for there official release, so be it, but do't pretend they don't exist or are'nt known.Beaussie wrote:Again, please point out where on AGB Nielsen's website the figures have been released/posted. Go on, the link has been provided for all to see. I'll take the official source of regional ratings over anything the NSWRL or Daily Telegraph posts thanks.

Oh dear, so the Daily Telegraph/News Ltd is now gospel for what's right and wrong despite the official source having not released or confirmed any such details. Think about that for a minute and then tell us that doesn't sound ridiculous.pussycat wrote:Whether or not the figures have been posted on the Nielson website is totally irrelevant.
