Same old pathetic excuse
NRL GF up against prime time shows on other channels
AFLOL GF up against 50 yr old Elvis movies shown for the 20 th time .
So how do you explain the fact both NRL and AFLs games shown in prime time get better ratings than the games shown during the day? :hmm: :(/
FFS
They aren't the GF
What can't you understand about that .
Fans of teams not in contention or casual fans make an effort to watch the GF.

They don't for season games

How often do you see a show that is on in the afternoon on the top rating shows for the week? :thumbleft:

Keep the denial up!
Lol talk about denial
It's the biggest event in the fumble universe .
Anyone who wants to watch will
Doesn't matter if it's arvo or in prime time .
& just like last time & the time before that when the sat arvo excuses are trotted out(people out shopping ...or at work etc ..) it's laughable .
If you want to watch..you'll go shopping some other time
You want to watch ...you'll swap shifts at work with someone who is not into sport .
Simple fact...if you want to watch.......you will

But but but but but but
Sat arvo

Lol
No competition
No top rating shows to compete against
I think you are right in that anyone who wants to watch will. However it is the casual watcher that brings in the extra numbers. Sunday night you are getting far more people at home flicking around. Sat arvo im not necessarily going to watch a nrl grand final unless storm are playing ... even then if it's a nice day I'm down the beach or out for lunch etc. Sunday night I'm likely to be home in front of the tv so likely to watch ... at least in part.

What you could argue is that being a long weekend in nsw and qld people may be away from the sets and set top people metres if they have one so that could bring down viewer numbers.

Lol there is a reason why it's called prime time
How many of those elvis reruns feature in the top viewing each week?

Nearly every time the AFL is shown in prime time they flog the nrlol

Have look at the last years finals series and last week!
Have a look at the rating after the weekend coming!
Nothing will change! The AFL will dominate & you'll still dribbling out the same old but buts in denial
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million

I pretty sure they don't count Pubs and clubs in the rating figures - just house holds. There would be thousands-that would watch the GF from pubs and night clubs, all working against a night time GF.
What those 4800odd ratings boxes :(/

If you had some idea about realm pissycat more people work during the day & the evening especially Sunday night is known as prime time, there the majority of people are at home, hence why nearly all the top rating shows are on that Sunday evening or shown in the evening

No it gets answered but it's not the response you want!

It's simple those elvis reruns never feature in the top viewed programs of he week?

When shown in prime time AFL flogs the nrlol nearly every occasion

But then again the AFL apparently knows people in high places and fudges the ratings!

Elvis reruns have been watched over & over
The fumble Gf is the highlighlight of the fumble year
So it should smash everything it's up against
all wanting to watch will watch.

The NRL GF is up against other top rating shows which would take viewing numbers off us.

So answer the question
With plenty of notice to change work etc does anyone who wants to watch the fumble final watch it ..
& what the fuck is that last line rant ....it's got nothing to do with the Gf argument

2. there are casual viewers who will only watch either GF if it is convenient
3. the NRL moved to a prime time slot for more ratings, not so they could compete with better programs.........idiot
4. Channel 7 want the AFL to move their GF to prime time for better ratings, not so they also can compete with better programs.........idiot

1 usually but not grand final day.
2. So you mean if the GF was on of a day and the only opposition was an Elvis re run or Bonaza. Or if was on of a night the options might be getaway or 60 minutes. I wonder what way the casual viewers would go?
3. Channel 9 and channel 7 both want prime time GF because they can charge far more for a add during prime time rather than an afternoon.
4. the AFL are holding back on giving channel 7 a prime time GF because its about the only thing they've left to sell to the networks.
5. Far more people go to pups and clubs of a night.
Far more people work at night than an afternoon.

1. no, every day
2. There are far less casual viewers in the day....The ratings prove it day after day
3. They charge more because the programs rate more
4. Yet the networks want it for greater ratings
5. home many people go to pubs on Sunday evening? I guarantee there are far more BBQs and get togethers for Saturday arvo's GF

Oh dear
If there was a GF on every weekend then your argument might stand up
There's not
ITS a once a year event
Everyone who wants to watch is .
What is so hard to understand about that .
If it was a weekly event then yes ..people would be ..ho hum
I can catch it next Sat arvo or the one after .or the one after
But it's not
It's the once a year highlight of the fumbleball calendar
So sat arvo or prime time it gets the viewers who want to watch .

As for the casual viewer who might watch if they come across it channel surfing...maybe a few
But they have a choice of plenty of other HIGH RATING shows in prime time
Not fucking Elvis movies ..lifestyle or fishing shows .

It has no competition
The NRL GF has .

Can I have a source for the NRL moving to night for more ratings

Yes, everyone who plans to watch either GF will watch it, irrespective of when it's on. However, the fact is there are more people home in the evening, especially Sunday, and these people will channel surf and choose the most intersting show on offer. This simply doesnt happen in the afternoon to anywhere near the same degree.

Why do you think the NRL and AFL broadcasters want their GFs in prime time?
