Yet nrl finals struggling for crowds in its heartland of Sydney and falling well behind in ratings.
did the turn out for the 3 nrlol games with heavily discounted tickets end up passing the 1 swans games with over priced tickets
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million

Ladies anda gentlemen .. And ...ahem .. AFL fans, please, a little hush now and listen up to your King and post creator as I give you your timely thread summation. :afro:

So in sum, thus far our AFL fans have responded to a post that is clearly about the lack of competitive matches in the afls first week of finals with two limp sad sac type responses.

1. oh yeah well what about the port match!!!???
2. Oh yeah well what about the cwowds and teevee ratings!!!???

I acknowledged the port match in the op. And I acknowledged the off topic crowd statement as a win for the AFL during the finals. The off topic tv ratongs? Meh I'm sure the nrls finals to ratings have been fantastic.

Thus far not one, I repeat not one AFL fan has been able to acknowledge that 75% of the alfs first week of finals games were uncompetitive lopsided events. Not one of em!!

Look it was a shithouse week of AFL finals but common guys it can't have been that traumatic that you can't even remember or come to acknowledge what happened?

Or is it just too early? A, I bringing this trauma up too early? You guys need some time out first? A few sleeps? Couple of visits to yer shrinks before you can actually voice what happened last weekend ?

So the throwball fans have conceded how far behind they are in ratings and crowds theyve now resorted to debating the closeness of each game.

Oh dear, desperate times indeed LOL

 ^^^ needs a bit more time. Can everyone give nlol space on this issue. The poor bastard's had a really tough week!

I mean just imagine. All season your favourite 'competition' has been building towards the pinnacle, finals footy! And then, when it comes you spend hours of your hard earned weekend watching dull uncompetive loosided boring matches. It's gotta be tough.

rounds are different, and matches are different. Next week the NRL could have blowouts and the AFL close games. Judging the codes based on a single week of games is as stupid as it gets. But this is KE after all

He def needs some shrink time

I'm judging the codes on the level of competition between teams during finals. I've long argued with evidence on how lopsided the AFL Comp is in comparison to the NRL. The afls expansion has fairly destroyed the competition, dispersed the quality. Week one of the finals has been yet another example.

The top eight is meant to be competitive, seriously the AFL and you fans should be upset with the poor showing during week 1 of the finals. It was an absolute disgrace, more akin to a poor regular season round of footy where everyone says "that was a shit round of footy but the match ups were pretty much all top sides versus bottom sides"

The competition is a shambles and no cwowds nor tv ratings can make up for the fact it's out of whack, lopsided to billio, dull, uncompetitive, an Unpleasant watch.

Just at least admit that week 1 of AFL finals was generally shithouse and we can take ur education and awareness from that point forward ok nlol? and that goes for you other AFL fans too! :) Altogether now and a 1 and a 2 and a 3 after me! :D: "week one of the AFL finals was generally shithouse!"

You're arguing on 4 games of the finals. The power v WC was one of the games of the year. The tigers v cats was also a close match up until the last quarter when the tigers kicked away. The other 2 finals were one-sided but involved the 2 form teams of our comp.

As for unpleasant to watch, dont the crowds and ratings show you're completely incorrect?

You're a moron as usual

So Wookster - what's happened to your ratings figures? Have you given up?? The finals figures are similar to last year and past years for both codes. And as you've calculated RL has won the aggregate numbers year on year recently who do you think will win this years aggregate ? I have RL well in front by end of year.
I havent given up, I just dont post them because I dont have enough AFL data for an accurate picture.
Really??? That's kind of interesting......I will keep a watching brief!!

Yep pretty brainless management again. If its a Sydney team v a non Sydney team you play it at the home ground of whoever is higher on the ladder.

If it is two Sydney sides with big followings i.e. Souths v Dogs or Parra v Tigers you go to ANZ. Lesser drawing sides i.e. Manly, Sharks or Penrith you again go to the home ground of whoever finished higher. It's not rocket science.

It's page three and our AFL fans have yet to admit it was a shithouse first week of AFL finals footy!

They're in mammoth denial, I feel for wookie who came on the scene and exploded with anger and venom highlighting that the port match went into overtime and ignoring the fact that the rest of the matches were basically non events. Then nlol, I'm really worried about him. He's hopping mad the poor duffer. Completely in denial, he can't come to the factual conclusion that in terms of competition it was a woeful weekend of AFL finals footy.

Just admit the bleeding obvious folks, you'll feel better I to be aligned with, rather than fighting against, the truth, I assure you :) now take a deep breath .... and say it like it was!
