In other Leagues Demons would be in the finals
Why does the AFL ignore head to head results between teams tied on the ladder? Who says points percentage is better than points differential (ie how many more points you scored above what you allowed) which is what the NRL uses. If the Demons were in the NRL they would be in the finals and the Eagles would not be. If the Demons were in the NFL they would be in the finals on head to head results with the teams they are tied with. They beat the Eagles in their one encounter. Likewise the Cats would be minor premiers because they split their two games against Adelaide but scored more points in the two matches. Head to head has to be a better decider than either points percentage or points differential wouldn't you say ?

Yeh I agree, I dislike the AFL % factor to decide.
Nrl way is a better scenario
Poor D's they deserved a top 8 position too.
