The NRL would have have it's gay fans. But the AFL is definitely the number one code for LGBT community.
This is why AFL market so heavily towards this group with the gay pride round and probably why they bowed to minority groups and got rid of their cheerleaders decades ago.

Somehow I don't think the NRLs scantily clad cheergirls is the best marketing for gay men.
