But you can't compare the two. The AFL is Australia's largest sporting business by a country mile and can do that type of thing. The nrl, whilst growing, do not have the same financial clout as is a smaller business.

The nrlol has been are one for years and signed record breaking to deals worth billions
Over the last 5 years the little league has posted profits! One year a $50 odd million profit & was apparently building a war chest! Basement dweller nrl fan terminology for money in the bank
