Re: Coward epidemic in AFL.
Just got back from Vietnam and saying there is Sane Same .... if it's your inclination to split hairs than so be it but the point stands ... unless there is something stated in a contract or statement of offer.. and neither of us no otherwise, then the process can be quite arduous .... a point I believe we are both making. Even then, it can be a legal nightmare if someone wants to be difficult. I suspect there would still be terms to sweeten the decision he made ... such as a payout of sorts. In saying that, he would have been told I am guessing, that he take the deal or they will crush him ... but nicely of course.

Re: Coward epidemic in AFL.
Just read the rest of your post ... and I'll participate. In from Vietnam this morning so no one round tonight. But you really must pay attention; I told you they bored quickly of the frivolity of your posts and the fun we had .... me, on the other hand, continue to get a chuckle which I must admit I do question as to why...my guilty pleasure of sorts I guess. Maybe next week as we sit by the pool sipping whisky and telling stories I'll try and entice them again but I'm sure I'll be met with a laugh and a moan begging me not to.
We all have our vices and I like to keep you around Terry.
Oh... and don't mind my spelling ... it's bad enough as it is then through in the occasional spell check and a lack of care to check most times before submitting ... plus these little phone keyboards ... and I'm surprised any of my posts are remotely legible.

Re: Coward epidemic in AFL.
Half the problem with these dog shots guys are doing in the AFL is the constant niggling.
Pussy elbows and shoves. I have never seen more little bitches trying to be tough than in an AFL game.
If you did any of that in any other contact sport, a fight would start for sure and not a coward punch when the player is not looking like AFL players do.
You just would not get away with it.

Re: Coward epidemic in AFL.
thats the point, to unsettle you opponent so they move their focus away from the game and maybe do something stupid that hurts their team. I suppose RL doesnt have that given players dont play adjacent to an opponentNRL&NFLweLaughATafl wrote: Fri Jul 14, 2017 9:15 pmHalf the problem with these dog shots guys are doing in the AFL is the constant niggling.

It's just there's more coward attacks in AFL
& see how quickly RL reacted to the above story .
Maybe fumbles & bumbles could learn a thing or two

Yeah. How he wasn't sent off was amazing. That was a great game to watch by the way. Really enjoyed it with something happening all the time.

I do, we get one every so often and you and your thickneck mates go into meltdown mode when we get one "AFL full of cheap shots" etc.

Re: Coward epidemic in AFL.
For the record I believe Soliola should have been sent off. A couple of points: There is no send off rule in AFL so twats like Gerard Whatley shaking his head and bagging RL in his usual condescending manner are hypocritical at best.
The Slater hit occurred because in RL opposing players are running toward each other at speed. That's why it's called a collision sport. Slater passed the ball and was hit a fraction of a second late because Soliloa did not/could not stop his forward motion. In any case it is an offence to hit a man late - it will probably be argued whether it was intentional or reckless/careless.
The first point of contact was the top of Slater's left arm with Soliola's right forearm. Slater was sliding down and Soliola's right bicep then struck Slater's head. It is an offence to strike the head. It will again be argued as to whether it was intentional or reckless/careless.
This does not compare with AFL coward punching. On almost all occasions these incident's have happened when the game has either stopped or moved on from the protagonist's. The offender has then punched the opponent to the head or body with a closed fist. They had ample time to stop and move on but chose to pursue and intentionally strike a hapless opponent. That is truly cowardly.

Re: Coward epidemic in AFL.
People in the AFL such as the media were talking about how the AFL should introduce the send off rule after those on field incidents the other week. How it sucks where the offender gets to play on and the victim comes off injured.
