given AFL ratings for NSW and QLD are no more than 80k combined, and very few, maybe 10% would switch over for the last quarter, and they would only be counted as 1/4 for tuning in to the last quarter, that would add about 2k to the AFL figure at most.

You shorter telecast and earlier finish would more than account for that
On the weekend there was 80k watching on 7mate and a further 50k on PTV. But your ignoring the southern viewers on Gem/PTV as well as anything else that doesn't suit

As for the rest of your post LOL

If we have a blow out its all over by half time. Its not a lot more than a Quarter in your game and plenty of time for a come back.
You mean all those southerners watchin nrl over AFL? Lol

Get your hand off it! Your game finishes earlier which means even your one sided games should retain their audience. The same cannpt be said for a one sided AFL game with the last quarter starting at 10pm

the extra length in Aussie Rules given the quarter time and third quarter time and extended half time break
and extra stoppages after every goal..

= extra advertising dollars..

gotta take the Good and the Bad..

Your rambling on with a lot of shit as usual LOL. Face it, AFL is a long winded boring games that doesn't rate very well.

I know how you must feel. I was just devastated when I first found out that Santa wasn't real. Then they told me Rudolph wasn't real either. I couldn't go into work for 3 days.

you also dont take into account that Perth see friday night games at 5.40pm, starting outside primetime. Plus it's shown on a secondary digital channel. If Brisbane received these conditions for your Friday night game your ratings wouldnt be poor like they are now, theyd be laughable.

So let me get this straight LOL. Other than the 40min overlap that the AFL enjoys over the NRL matches on a Friday night, and despite the fact that the AFL don't show there bottom teams in this timeslot and other than the Nrl doesn't play its best match of a Friday night and the AFL nearly always do. But other than that these matches are identical. :(/ :(/ :(/

So essentially youre saying none of the matches compare at all because the AFL game goes for longer.

Did you hear that Wookie? Close the thread now, pussy thinks its a waste of time

The NRL show the Broncos 7 times in the first 20 weeks, so clearly they target Friday as their main game. Why wouldnt they? You think they want their best rating game to have less viewers?

The AFL target Friday, just like the NRL, but to suggest it's best game every week is asburd. This Friday we have two middle of the pack Melbourne clubs playing. Rnd 4 we had bulldogs v Nth, both who are struggling this year. Sydney are in plenty of Friday nights and they had their worst start to a season in their history.

As for you overlapping theory, full credit to you for spinning our longer game as a winner for ratings! Well done on that doozy!

The Broncos and Melbourne are the only Metro clubs outside Sydney. Brisbane are shown just as often on Thursday and often on a Saturday.
The AFL have played the Western Bulldogs 7 times in the first 17 weeks. The Swans 5 times, and will appear in the next 2 Friday night matches?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????. Meanwhile Lions - freemantle - Suns will make 0, zero , nil, zip Friday night appearances. [-(

its only this year
that the Giants have been given Friday Night Games in The AFL

not because they rate well in Sydney..

They seem to rate well in Melbourne (as a HATE Factor for a manufactured side) to LOSE!!

The bulldogs are one of our smallest clubs.

The AFL attempt to get interesting matches on Friday night, they make no secret of this, and the NRL do the same by showing the Broncos and other larger NRL clubs. However, this can come seriously unstuck if these clubs perform poorly. This has been the case in the AFL where these clubs have been regulars: North Melbourne are in the bottom 2, StKilda were expected to improve but are middle of the pack, Essendon the same, Melbourne the same, Swans were horrible for the first 7 rounds, and hawthorn were bottom 4 for the first half of the year.

As for the lions etc, the NRL may show their bottom clubs once for the year on Friday night. Dont tell me theres a big difference because there isnt. Both codes show their better teams so the comparison is fair, and you're losing 15 v 4. I dare say if you were winning you wouldnt have a single complaint

thats the point, people want to see teams who perform well, not the teams in the bottom 4. The AFL change the Friday games each year depending on who the form sides are. The NRL also do this however they still show the Broncos to maximise Brisbane ratings, irrespective of where they finish. Funny enough the Broncos have only missed the finals a handful of times in their entire existence. Coincidence?

You are actually wrong..

THE NRL DOES not choose what game goes where.. the Broadcaster chooses..

This is changing in 2018>>>>>>

However I do agree...

That if FRIDAY NIGHT is your MARQUE NIGHT>> YOU CHOOSE THE BEST GAMES IN THIS TIMESLOT>>

THE BRONCOS
reasoning behind why they have only missed 1 season for the finals...

They have a lot of advantages..

1 team town
rich club
well run club.
all the sponsors they want
no Competition

Crops of players to choose from (from QLD CUP SIDES)

too many advantages..

That is why there needs to be another TEAM IN BRISBANE>>>
