somehow I believe an independent count over each codes annual reportpussycat wrote: Thu Jun 01, 2017 11:30 pmAnd if Nielson is true to form he treats Rugby League's club rounds and Rep matches separately. He also bases his finding on metro viewers only.
annual reports from both organisations makes it quiet clear which code is more popular on social media,
NRL: "The cumulative audience of 11 million people follow the game on social media through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat across NRL"
AFL: "Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Weibo) up 30 per cent to more than two million followers"

Here's a report from April 2017
With a strong social media presence across most states and territories, National Rugby League’s (NRL) total social media footprint touches 2.4 million, while all 16 NRL teams combined account for 60% of the sports total footprint of 10 million. At a representative level, the NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons who contest the showpiece State of Origin series contributes a further 1.75 million to this tally while the men’s national team, Australian Kangaroos, add another 200,000.
Third placed Australian Football League (AFL) has amassed a social following of more than two million with the state and territories adding another 200,000. The sports franchised teams contribute a further 6.6 million to its nine million total footprint.

Or Pete , are you talking about a Shanghai style sell out.

when the ticketing company who sells the tickets announces there are no more tickets for sale, thats a sell out. Re: Australias Greatest Sporting Event!
So why is a soccer match at the MCG with a crowd of almost 100k . And than ,some months later , theres a match of about 95k but its a sellout.?NlolRL wrote: Fri Jun 02, 2017 11:43 amwhen the ticketing company who sells the tickets announces there are no more tickets for sale, thats a sell out. Because the one that had no more tickets for sale was sold out whereas, for whatever reason, the other one still had tickets for sale. Hence not sold out.

Re: Australias Greatest Sporting Event!
What Wookie actually said there was only 1 not 2 crowd figure bettered the AFL's grand final crowd that year.
The Ratings difference for the 2015 Grand Finals was around 70 or 80k when Tasmania and WA regionals were included, when the rating from the Warriors were included it would have been plenty more.

GAME 2 is a sure thing for a sell out..
and will beat Game 1 Tv Figures..
Generally game 1 and 2 are the highest
especially a decider ...
NSW with the chance of winning
People get excited
But as a NSW MAN
stuff the decider and bring home the CUP IN GAME 2
