yes, we show games into home markets. But we also games at the same time. The NRL dont, and benefit every time. The NRL also have far more exclusive games on Fox which rate better than when they are simulcast with FTA. Really, you should win by miles in the season tally. Not that it means much anyway.AFLcrap1 wrote: Wed May 24, 2017 6:07 pmLol isolation ..isolation .

We are up 9-2 in the head to head game comparison and we havent even entered origin effected rounds yet

(and only then when you exclude ratings from our 16th team). and by year endstill with less games

Friday night is. None of the games on Saturday are, nor Sunday. We have the odd game on Thursday and Monday. Do you even math?

Re: 2017 - Australian Football TV Ratings - AFL, AFL Womens etc (Rolling updates in OP)
The back half of Friday and Sundays games are shown in total isolation (Thursday too when on). Your Saturday day game is in total isolation while your Sat night games only opposition is a Pay TV match, and when that ends you again have no opposition for the back end of your match.
Maybe your talking about your overlapping matches but but excuses - it gets very confusing because you've got that many
. As I've said many many many many times the vast majority of your viewers aren't affected . But if your a PTV viewer you can watch 6 or 7 matches and unlike the NRL viewer you have a choice.
And if there is a minor problem with accumulating ratings(big if) It is more than offset by the extra ratings you get by maximising these rating by showing West Coast into Perth while Adelaide are watching the V Crows and getting the maximum ratings there.

Our Friday night game is in isolation
Saturday has a game from 1.30 to 4.30, 3 to 6, and 4.30 to 7.30. Then 2 games at 7.30
Sunday has 1.30 to 4.30, 3 to 6, and 4.30 to 7.30
All games bar Friday overlap with another game. So the only parts of games shown in isolation are 1 game on FN, 2 halves on Saturday and 2 halves on Sunday.
As for Perth and Adelaide getting games, isnt that the same as the Broncos every Th or Fr night?

Re: 2017 - Australian Football TV Ratings - AFL, AFL Womens etc (Rolling updates in OP)
No, No, No and No.
My definition of a match being shown in isolation would be a match shown without opposition. Your Friday match goes head to head with the NRL for 100m , after that it is shown in isolation for 60 or 80min.
The only people that are affected by overlap are PTV viewers. If you haven't got PTV(most People) you can only watch FTA and these matches have no overlap.
A person with PTV can watch 6 or even 7 matches, he can watch highlights of matches, he can basically watch AFL whenever he feels like it of a Saturday or Sunday. An NRL viewer with PTV doesn't have these choices.
Ch 9 broadcasts a match and that is shown to our entire audiences - Sydney , Queensland, Southern states. This is not the case with Ch7 except for Friday/Th/ nights.

Our matches do have opposition, each other! If 2 NRL matches were shown head to head your average would halve because your audience would split in 2. It certainly doesnt mean your audience is smallerpussycat wrote: Wed May 24, 2017 11:56 pmNo, No, No and No.

Mr TV's tweet has been updated:
227k regional.
Taking total to 1.044m
Excellent for a Thursday night (Melbourne audience down 77k on the Tigers vs. Pies from earlier in the season though) ☺
Wookie:
If you're wanting a source for that, type in on Google "Crikey TV ratings" and click on Glen Dyer's article from this morning, that also confirms Mr TV

So were just focussing on Pay TV now ? Your going to ignore all the advantages and focus solely on the disadvantages - how typical

No, both codes have advantages and disadvantages. But our extra FTA game is a saturday arvo which is shown against another game on foxtel, and delayed into Melbourne. Realistically it is a small advantage compared to showing every game in isolation

I would say the clear advantage the AFL has is it has more games on FTANlolRL wrote: Fri May 26, 2017 1:13 pmNo, both codes have advantages and disadvantages. around Australia.. therefore increasing the Figure..
Now is this the AFL's Fault no..
Its a Great Tv Deal
The NRL should be looking at this way of programming to increase FTA numbers...
Home Team gets FTA coverage Rest get Fox Coverage..
perfect.
Big games get FTA coverage
perfect
i applaud the AFL deal =D>
