Fri STV #NRL #FoxLeague #NRLCowboysEels National 252k: Metro 185k (Syd 109k Mel 14k Bri 46k Ade 4k Per 12k)
Fri STV #AFL #FoxFooty #AFLGiantsDogs National 326k: Metro 264k (Syd 24k Mel 138k Bri 25k Ade 35k Per 43k)

total for NRL last night: 951k
total for AFL last night: 1007k without regionals. Estimated total of 1234k (1/3rd metro)

So the direct comparison is now 7 -2 in favour of the AFL
You seem to have trouble grasping two relatively simple points. 1. Rugby league accumulate more ratings. 2.They do it from less matches.

The Southerners may have won some battles, great victories like bulls run and Chickamauga but in the end

In the end, broadcasters paid more for the AFL. And have done consistently so since the 90s. How DOES that silver medal taste?
The broadcasters may have paid more but they paid more for less a heck of a lot less. Highlights which product is more valuable.

The true value may not be realised overnight but it will happen.

I've never denied point 1. Point 2 fails to account for scheduling differences. Fact is if the NRL was more popular on TV it wouldnt consistently get beaten in the direct FTA/STV comparison games

which social media account?

in any case gotta go with patrick keane on this one - as the AFL official spokesman hes the guy who would know and he called 1.207 million total this morning.
Yep, which means there was 200k regional (Seven affiliates).

And it appears correct, the social media account I viewed corrected it.

Surprisingly only 1k down from Anzac Day clash Seven regional!

I dont place any value on anything you say either.
LOL

AFL House's broadcasting team are in constant communication with Seven Sport (which is right next door in Docklands) & Fox Footy.

Game would have peaked close to 2m national (Seven + Fox)!

I've posted plenty of examples of AFL officials lying through their teeth .

But let's just dismiss that . Because maybe they are telling the truth for a change .

Outside of the annual grant this is the additional funding the AFL gave to these expansion clubs in 2016

Brisbane Lions 8,144,434 m
Gold Coast Suns 7,806,106m
GWS Giants 12,159,886m
Sydney Swans 3,100,469m

This list doesn't include the millions they take out in bank loans.

Yes but look at playing numbers !!

The numbers I put up are totally outside the annual grant . they are handouts needed to keep afloat!

Other notable back holes were,

Melbourne , who received an extra $5.4m
North Melbourne $5.6m
St Kilda $9.2m
Western Bulldogs $8.2m

The total for additional handouts to all clubs was $86.8m

My point is, even with the money from crowds and membership half the clubs(at least) still lose money. That's despite clubs receiving there grant, additional handouts totalling $86.8million and probably a similar amount in personal loans. How is this even possible?
