If ratings are not the major concern why do they now schedule there tv matches for the first half of the season only?
Its a balance. Crowds and ratings are their combined focus
Why do they maximise ratings by showing individual matches into there own state.
Because ratings in one of their focus. The NRL do the same with the Broncos
And why in years gone by have they chosen to a play around over two weekends.
A bye for a break
And why do they not schedule there bottom sides in the better timeslots?
define bottom sides. Carlton, Richmond, and Collingwood were in the bottom few teams last year and have featured so far on TH and F
Or maybe they like coming second.
Winning direct comparisons with the NRL is called winning
I know we have been over this before, but its always good for a laugh, if the AFL have over 4 matches on free to air each week , how do they have less matches?
I answered this only a few posts ago. Wookie reckons everyone understands. Clearly you dont
I Just put up head to head figures, they were 11 to 12.
your figures dont include our full regional audience as I showed you. My figures, which you can check for yourself, show we won 17 v 6
These figures don't include facts like the AFL dosn't play sides that rate poorly , or that the many of the best NRL players are missing during the middle part of the year nor do the figures include rating from NZ.
Already been through this. Your lower teams only played 3 times on FN last year, same as ours. I excluded SOO affected rounds and we still trounced you
One of the times that they played a round over 2 weekends was the opening match to the season, a few years back. Bye round, my arse
I admit the NRL try to maximise there ratings, but the AFL do also. And they are so much better at it . That is one area were the AFL do dominate.
We've been talking about ratings for the last 10 pages, surely you can work out what I'm talking about.
I know I told you this just two days ago, but I'll try again . Everybody or just about, has a television set. (usually a square shaped box in the corner of the room). Its possible for 24m people to watch that box (if its turned on) AFL viewers are given the option of watching 4 matches (more in some cases) and these matches are available to all people who have this television thing-a-mi-bob. Now a Rugby League viewer like myself has access to just 3 matches per round (less even) because during the middle of the season we usually have just 2. There is another device and this device is not available to 70% of people . If you have PTV and your heart so desires you can watch AFL all day Saturday and much of the day Sunday - A maximum of 9 matches, though you could probably only watch 7 matches, although the breaks would allow you to watch 30m of games 8 & 9. Thought the audience for people wanting to watch more than 7 matches would be small. An NRL viewer can watch all 8 matches. I have PTV and regard myself as ardent viewer , I watch 6 or 7 and I'm not sure how anyone could watch more than that . Is it even possible to sit through more? Particularly if there 2 and a half hour AFL matches.
I told you only days ago that I factored in regionals for those Thur/Fri matches. the only thing that I did'nt factor in was the NZ viewers .
You just keep regurgitating the same old crap - if you take out the origin rounds I make it 8 each or 9-8 to us! with them in its 11-12 to you.
Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!
