well funny enough ch7, ch9 and fox wouldnt use the seasons tally to determine popularity. They know that the AFL rates higher for the most games, which is why they pay more

There's not that much difference on a yearly basis . But we got our own TV channel and have maintained much of our digital media

Well lets see.

In a fortnight the AFL will have its first round. Nationally, AFL fans will only be able to watch a maximum of 6 games for the round because all but 2 are played directly against another game (unless you watch a replay which isnt counted in Wookie's ratings). Nationally, NRL fans can watch all 8 games. So 6 AFL games v 8 NRL games. Multiply that by 25 rounds and yes, the NRL have a lot more games on TV.

Interestingly, the 6 AFL games per round account for 18 hours viewing compared to only 16 hours viewing for the NRL. Yet more hours watched somehow equals less countedviewers in the ratings. How you think that's comparable is beyond me

It shouldn't be that hard to figure out that its an advantage to have each match played into its own home state.

In a round of football every AFL viewer can watch at least 4 FTA matches , the other 30% can watch 17-20 hours of AFL


every RL viewer can watch 3 FTA (Quiet often less) + half a dozen rep mates, the other 30% can watch 12 - 14 hour of NRL.
In 8 of the week from rounds 10-20 a PTV viewer can only watch 4 or 5 matches and all viewers are restricted to just 2 FTA matches.

what you fail to account for is that not all FTA games are equal. The prime time games rate way more than games during the day. The AFL's 4th FTA game is a day game on Saturday which is the worst time slot, so it adds no more in ratings than a prime time Fox game.

So the NRL still have an advantage in the meaningless season tally. A measure showing the differences in scheduling, not ratings at all.

Seriously, if the NRL was more popular on TV why does it get outrated on almost every FN when it's one game v one game? Why did it get outrated on every finals game last year? You think these are anomalies? Just a coincidence?

AFL: 22 Fri Night, 22 Sat night, 5 times on a Thursday night + 2 Monday nights. = 51

NRL: 24 Fri night, 17 on a Thursday night and 3 of a wendsday night = 44

NlolRL, I just checked out last years matches The first 12rounds on Friday night we win 5 and you win 7 hardly 'we won nearly all' as you absurdly try to make out. after r12 to about Rd 20 is our origin period which sees less focus on club football and the 34 best players missing most weeks, From rd. 20 on regionals don't seem to have been available otherwise we would have won most of those as well.
