I know in qld womens AFL is taking off. My one played last year and loves it.

They are saying they need more grounds in brisbane due to amount of women playing now.

I think AFL has substantial leagues across the country and be played almost everywhere. I am sure there are pockets.

Rl however has little in the way of leagues especially when compared to assure rules. I think in tassie is basically folded. I know in Gippsland they tried to give it a go but folded as well. Not sure about south Australia but I do believe Perth has a league.

Hey, I think good on the nrl for being creative however when it comes to funding I don't think using participation numbers that includes touch will fool anyone in govt departments. Same with AFL and there numbers. The question will be asked I would think nowadays ...yes but how many people are playing the game proper.

The big thing AFL has is the massive growth of female partipation as this is very PC at present. I am not sure what it is like for rl but the AFL really do a great job of promoting whatever they do.
