So you forgot about the swans having to relocate from Victoria because they were insolvent plus you didn't mention the Brisbane bears playing out of the gold coast having to move and merge with Fitzroy? That's three clubs alone yet the propaganda bs continues.Swans4ever wrote:pussycat wrote:Swans4ever wrote:Your right I did forget the Titans - your the first to raise it and that in itself. Don't you think the NRL whilst having all these bids aren't really showing any sort of strategic plan it seems it's all a bit hap hazard - also they don't seem to care or are interested in areas like Adelaide and Perth while I haven't looked at recently looks years off have a first grade juniors.ParraEelsNRL wrote:All this yak yak yak yet no truth as usual.
Seems all the vfl fans forgot the titans as usual or just plain lied to set their agenda on its course.
No money the wookie says, hmmm. Isn't their current deal close too the current fumbles deal?
The fumbles put two teams in and it is costing them a fortune. The NRL didn't.
There are more players on a fumbles list to start with so more cost there too.
Meh what do I know anyway, the titans are a figment of my imagination according to you lot.
The ARL in 1995 had 20 teams, by the time two comps were up and fighting each other, there were 22 teams which was reduced with mergers and or relocations and sadly removals of a lot of loved historic clubs right down to 14 teams only until South's fought their way back in for the 2002 season. Then 5 years later the titans were formed to take the league back to the current 16.
There are lies mistruths and propaganda, sadly as usual it's all one way.
2007 was the last time the league expanded. Under the main league there are expansion teams already playing from the south coast in the Illawarra cutters, the central coast, Perth red pirates or whatever, new Zealand, PNG, Fiji next season, and a whole bunch of old and new Queensland teams wanting a piece of the action. So to say there has been no expansion since 1998 is a flat out lie for a start. The league at NRL level has jumped from 14 to 16 in that time with plenty more on the horizon. The NRL are making sure all the current clubs are viable first and the player depth is there first before adding anymore teams. Even an idiot should be able to see this, yet you knuckleheads can't. Go figure eh.
The game doesn't want to co tinue raiding the European super league to its detriment now does it? That wouldn't be smart business destroying your main European comp for another 40 odd players at least. Better off bringing in these new teams as they have in the lower divisions whilst growing the grassroots in those places so that once they do have a team, they can rely on homegrown talent which will have community support straight away over paying stars to move interstate or overseas in regard new Zealand, PNG or whatever they decide to do In the pacific which could combine two or even three nation jointly having a club playing three or four home games in separate places.
Swans what's all this fascination with expansion? Is it just jealousy and envy because the NRL do it so much better than the AFL?
Queensland is a Dead zone in the AFL with two miserable failures. And clubs like GWS, I'm sure you will tell me there in the finals blah, blah, blah. But there only there at the expense of the lower Melbourne sides that are struggling to survive due to the exorbitant money being pumped into the likes of GWS just to keep them afloat.
The Suns, GWS
, the wions [-o< , what a dismal failure AFL expansion is.

Look at the NRL' expansion sides Melbourne, Gold Coast, Brisbane and before that Canberra. All profitable and all in the Semis. So stop waffling on about NRL expansion when AFL expansion is nothing short of a joke, a very sick one.
Sell out again for the storm tonight?
Really they do it so well let me see, AFL sides to fold after expansion since 1980 - 0
RL sides to fold following expansion - Sth QLD Crushers, Gold Coast Seagulls, Hunter Mariners, Adelaide RAMS, Nth Sydney and Western Reds/Pirates - 6 clubs!
Wait for it SL war - but the fact is it just show RL is not very good at expansion with GC Titans and Newcastle, West Tigers under NRL administration just shows they bow too much to external pressures that are generally short sighted and don't have any real strategic plan. GWS is far from being a failure indeed can only be considered an ongoing success in a term term plan, Bris Lions will bounce back 23,000 members and an average of 17,000 home crowds better than most RL clubs - and GC well home crowd of 11500 and membership base of 12800 seems again on par with other RL clubs - your so blinded by arrogance that you don't even realise what your talking about!
Typical.
