Now when it was started up they most probable thought that would be the location - but there just isn't the stadium and or facilities. As I understand it this was the determining factor and when it was originally pitched those facilities were also offered but I may be wrong. How is that any different then the Federal gov spending 45 mil on a failed FIFA WC bid which was doomed from the beginning due to corruption of FIFA - I personally see that as more a fronting considering we were NEVER even a chance - like I said you can hate GWS all you like but reasons like this make no sense!

Well I don't like Frank Lowry how he has gauged so much money off ordinary people in Australia made juniors fund soccer and deliberately lied about Australias chances of hosting a WC - but I don't take it out on the A League or its clubs, I don't like how Wanderers fans are disrespectful towards other cities stadiums, their constant law breaking (I.e. Flares and damaging property) and they way they are constantly trying to bring soccer hogalisom into Aust sport - but I don't hate Wanderers or the A League for it. For the record the Giants jumper and theme song were voted on by members and public alike and you name another venue they could have played!

i do not believe that lowry lied about our chances of hosting the world cup he had no reason to do so, in trying to get the world cup he really neglected the A-league to get the world cup so for me it makes no sense, i also disagree that wanderers fans are disrespectful towards other stadiums i mean some are but what you said feels too much like a generalisation in my opinion

how did the vote work for the theme song and jumper? i am happy to be proven wrong but i think the wanderers fans had a lot more say into what their club is but i could be wrong about that too but i dont buy the venue thing, they set up pretending to be based out of blacktown and just moved away from that venue, even if they were denied that area by cricket australia the AFL could pretty much just buy all of sydney if they want they are extremely rich so i think if they really wanted to be a pure western sydney team they could be, they have enough money

Well I must admit I don't know the full ins and outs of our bid - but from what I read Lowry was in charge of the group that did the feasibility study - the Gov relied on his advice, now if he didn't know that 2022 was decided on the USA before the vote which changed in the last minute Given his boasts and credentials then he either lied to the Australian public in either his credentials or influence or was a very very very incompetent person to lead the bid!

As for WSW when they come to Melb they seek out Victory supporters deliberately before the match to fight - this has happened since they were admitted, the seats where their fans are assigned are always broken after the match, more of their supporters are arrested for violent anti social behaviour then any other club in the a league. I know Police Officers who work at their games and there is always allegations of their supporters throwing urine to other supporters, and there is always big trouble - as much as they are a big club in the a league they are a massive headache for (I can only speak of the Melb perspective) other clubs - they show no respect for other clubs or their supporters. They are hated in Melb!
