The AFL all Sydney Final - Clouded by the seedy underbelly of the code

Well after a long wait, the southern Australian code, famous for its institutionalised drugging of entire teams, is finally preparing to have a final in Sydney involving two Sydney based teams!! Isnt that great!?!?!?

Well no, its kinda not. There's an awful stinky cloud hanging over the match.

This latest episode is only one in a long long long list of filthy drug episodes in the AFL. It reeks of the Essingbong case, the most famour drugs cheating case in Australian history. Why? Becuase senior officials appear to have been supporting the first round draft rookie to avoid his drug tests.

Members and Guests I call on you to reflect on the seriousness of what's going on in the AFL re drug cheating. I call on you to reflect with reference to Russia and their recent banning from the olympics due to institutionalised support for drug cheating. I very much doubt the GWS case will be brought into the public light, it'll be covered up and swept under the carpet quicker than ever as the timing for the AFL is awful re Sydney's respect for the code. But I'm still keen to hear your thoughts on this case??

If you ask me the AFL appears to be quite similar to Russia really. Drug cheating appears to be institutionalised at numerous clubs and so far essendon appear to be the only club who's been punished. I think its definitely on the nose down there at GWS and personally, given the history of institutionalised drug cheating in the code i think for the good of the sport this case needs to be addressed seriously and openly NOW. And if GWS are found guilty then the game next week needs to be called off..pronto!

KE, it is a major concern, especially the indication that he had help and the length of time it took to make known.

The cultural aspect is daming, as a domestic code with no international exposure the AFL is less 'concerned' and in fact seems to be openly contemptible of WADA. There are no international sanctions available, but it does put a black mark against Australia that a domestic sport seems to thumb it's nose at Authority.

The AFL need to clean up their mess and stop internationally besmirching all the other sports that are clean and have international exposure.

Just because the AFL don't care about anything outside Southern Australia, the rest of us live in the real world.

But why no investigations into them?



There's just too much evidence the comp is riddled with clubs who are systematically doping players. And its only coming out when the AFL know they cant cover it up...

IT HAS been revealed the drugs scandal involving GWS Giants star Lachie Whitfield is the result of emails his ex-girlfriend sent to ASADA.
The woman reportedly contacted the anti-doping authority about Whitfield’s behaviour when no action was taken after she first raised the issue with GWS officials,

Same Ol same Ol - ASADA has the investigation now since you hold that organisation in such high esteem you'll also be satisfied with their investigation! Oh and there's never been a disgruntled former partner misconstrue the facts before!! Wouldn't matter what was said just shows that no NRL/soccer fan on this forum are capable of being objective!

The question's are these: Why did Whitfield stay with a club official after he was dobbed in for drug use by his girlfriend? Why didn't he or the club notify the relevant bodies of his change of address as is required? Did the officials try to prevent him getting drug tested due to the drug allegations?

This thing stinks to high heaven. If we get answers to the above questions I have another set of questions that need answering.

I find it hard to believe a thing AFL says. They always seem to want to protect instead of punish. That whole Essendon saga was such a mess.

ASADA are good for organizations like them.
