Just like the soccer is trying to do over here
been here longer than AFL
Err no - some AF clubs have existed before most if not all soccer clubs OS and certainly 100 yrs before any A League clubs. Pretty stupid comment really!

Thought that might get a few nibbles, disappointed it was only 1.

What A League clubs have got to do with it is beyond me, but but this comments is great

"some AF clubs have existed before most if not all soccer clubs OS"

So we are talking about several 100's of thousands of clubs worldwide, so you are saying SOME AF clubs are older. But they are not the oldest. I know of at least 2 that are older.

Edinburgh Football club and Sheffield FC and maybe Hallam, so sorry you are wrong.

I should also had that there are several Rugby Clubs that are older than both those as well.

My point partly tongue in cheek, but mostly identifying a few things, 'football' was played in Australia before AF started, AF in Sydney was never really played, the early rules of AF have less in common than those of Cambridge and Sheffield rules have with modern football.
Football in NSW
- Football 200,868
- AFL NSW/ACT 28,468
- Rugby League 96,041
- Rugby Union 40,685
Football has 22% more players than the other football codes combined

Well no what was the professional soccer comp in Sydney until 1882 http://home.dictionaryofsydney.org/soccer-in-sydney-2/

Whereas AF was introduced prior to that

Clearly Clubs like Carlton before many European soccer clubs came into being. Regardless of the 'rules' being different it was still there and the Clubs that still exist today were there - your trying to gain some higher moral ground where there just isn't!

Pretty good, you might have heard about the World Cup, I think it was watched by about 5 billion people, so growth is great.

The only measure are professional comps? Kinda rules out Rugby then, which is a bit unfair.

Carlton is older than many football clubs? yep sure that's true, not sure the point. There are football clubs older than Carlton, see not sure of the point you are making.

Moral ground? how so? Just saying that there are older football clubs than AF clubs, nothing more nothing less.

Interesting to read one of the American football players is a fan of Jarrod Hayne and Sonny Bill Williams. They also find it confusing how Australian football is played on a round field.

They train and look like Kenyan long distance runners. I don't know why the fumblers don't do one of those ridiculous combine things in Kenya - heaps of tall spindly looking blokes over there lolololololololol

Hehe looks like you gave AFL an idea to get some international relevance.

Most AFL players look the same next to NRL players too. AFL is not a game of explosive speed and power.
Yeah but your confusing being fit and athletic with being fat and obese - you need to get a grip with reality - Buddy Franklin or Kurt Tippet, Mumford would tower over most NRL players and look much bigger - taking this one photo is really no argument at all - your just making yourself look like most RL posters do - desperate and foolish!
Do you seriously think these guys are fat lol.. You just have to look at the physiques of the two codes players and it says it all about AFL players not even looking like footballers.

I guarantee most AFL players would not stand a chance with explosive speed, weight training and agilty required.

As for being tall, that does not automatically mean your strong. The AFL player is the tallest guy there and still looks slim as.

They then immediately played 1st grade in a game they had never played and excelled. Their coaches and the media repeatedly praised them.

You were the one saying Soccer had been here longer ...... I'm just pointing out that it's professional comps are no older than AFL - you are somehow trying to argue that this in some ways makes soccer superior - it doesn't.
The fact you have world wide comps proves nothing but that people are very insular - (I suppose the fact at one point most of the worlds population were under communist governments - doesn't make that system of government better than democracy!). I just don't think you really have a point!

But facts are facts. AFL has rules that are stupid beyond words compared to football.

No other country in the world will like a sport which rewards missed shots at goal and has a ref throw the ball in backwards when it goes out.
Like seriously how shit is AFL lol

The reason Football is the world game is because it is a common sense game.
Something AFL will never be.

Huh? More likely the case that irrelevant sports from overseas try to latch onto anything Australian in this instance "Australia's Game" to seek a desperately needed headline/photo opportunity and publicity. Pathetic isn't it. Even the so called "world game" seeking some attention.
