Maybe you should have a cup of tea and some quiet reflection and stop getting wound up by what you think is the literal meaning it's clear he means that their shared history and similarities has given the code an advantage, but it also ignores that, those same advantages also produces some disadvantages. I see what he means but IMO I think the disadvantages evens out the advantages. Your strengths in SOO more than make up for your disadvantages in similarity.

Perhaps stop having a tanty and see what I wrote - there are some advantages e.g. People who play one code can pick the other up as understanding the other doesn't take a quantum leap in understanding, the grounds are the same, the equipment is the same, you obviously have the benefit of both coming from the same point of origin. Disadvantages are that for the uninitiated (like in Melb) there is a tendency not to seperate the two, you are also likely to targeting the same demographic, you have the same demand for playing surfaces as the other code. Like I said the are advantages and disadvantages - SOO more than makes up for any disadvantage, that's what I said.

I would imagine bu paving the way with a game that has lots of similarities. You are correct in stating they are competing codes so no official help. So we can leave that there. Afterall if we are going to be completely literal i do not think he said officially helped.

So if we take the above as a given, has union, with it being played in a country and being popular, assited rl in making in roads. I would say yes as for the reasons swans has pointed out ... Just by being similar and relatable to union. There are also ovsticles as both codes compete for interest.

I am reasonably aware of the history between the two codes. No one is suggesting that ru went about trying to help rl. I think we all agree on that. So once we agree on that we can put that aside. We are all in agreement.. They do not like each other and do not avticely support each other.


Now, has it been a helping hand for rl to have a game that it similar, established already. I would say it has. That is the helping hand that is being referred to.

Do you agree that ru being played and established in a country could be benificial at all to rl being supported just because of the similarities ?
