Look up thr AFL leagues in sydney alone. Their is a national grassroots footprint. As i said, whether it is as good as soccer i do not particuarly care, but AFL also has the tv deal, exposure, crowds, revenue etc that soccer doesnt. As far as player numbers it wins easily. Are a lot of women that play football (soccer) too. Obviously it is behind in the others in revenue.

But i did mention severak other areas such as tv coverage, ratings, membership, crowds, tv rights ..... And participation numbers. AFL may not lead all of these but they are high across most levels. You may argue one point against another here and there but as a whole aussie rules dwarfs soccer in australia as a whole.
