Why is that an issue? If a player is skilled enough to make the top level despite limited experience whats the problem?

Average weight for an AFL player is 87kg lol.. :D Which is pretty much nothing.
I have even seen Swans players and they are not imposing guys. Just tall. Most regular guys at my gym would have more muscle mass than them.

Reason why AFL players at the top level do not play nrl or switch is that it pays less on average. And really, hunt and izzy were just marketing ploys with a heap of money thrown at them ... They would be crazy not to have a dip.

I am sure if the nrl backed up a truck load of money to an AFL player some would take it. And some would do well.

For an AFL player to make it to an NRL list they would need to spend a many years bulking up their physique for the higher intensity impacts involved. The players are completely different shapes.

Why would an AFL player do this and waste 3-4 years of their sporting lives in preparation with no real guarantee of success?

He captains his state in Rl in SOO
He captains his country against traditional old rivals England & NZ
Something a fumbler can't do in his chosen sport .

If they were paid enough they would. Hunt identified a few players i think that he thought could make it.

Plus say a hooker role. Thetr are heaps of AFL players bigger than nrl playerd. Look at that add with jonothon brown and i think cameron smith. Maybe cronk not sure but that add shows a massive difference. Also mundine and langer where not hugh.

But yes there would be some bulking up. Main skill would be learning plays and positioning i think. AFL players would have the aerobic fitness. Just have to catch the ball then which isdifferent. It would be the continual big hits that would be difficult but sure there is atechnique in bracing for these.

Yes this is true but you get his point he was making. AFL players play AFL because they were generally brought up with it or recruited specifically. Same witg rl players. Nrl players do not generally earn what AFL players do as AFL is a bigger sport. Cam smith earns plenty though.

Do you really believe no AFL major player has gone to nrl because they are not good enough? Or that nrl would not pay enough?

Why do players knock back huge $$$$. From rival clubs to stay at their current one ?
There's loyalty
Settled with family around
A chance at a premiership
A chance to play rep footy

The same with moving clubs for less $$$

Money is not everything .

There's gotta be some who think that a chance to be playing for your country is a bigger reward than money .
