AFL's crowds more than double the NRL's because Melbourne is bleak

Post by Xman »

I'd like to explore Mal's comments that the AFL's crowds are double the NRL's because Melbourne is so bleak the people have nothing else to do but go to the footy.

Here's some things to consider:
1. If this is the case why does Perth also average over double the NRL crowds, and Adelaide almost 3 times? :?>

2. If NRL crowds are so low because there's so much more to do in Sydney than Melbourne, why do the swans also average double the NRLs crowds? :?>

3. If there's so much more to do in Sydney compared to Melbourne wouldnt this also translate to lower ratings in Sydney because people would be out enjoying these things rather than watching the NRL on TV? Or by 'so much more to do' do you pretty much mean watching TV :_<>

Please discuss

comparing a Melbourne winter to a Shitney winter! the cold in Melbourne is far more brutal and cold than Shitney
Melbourne has a much better & entertainment night life! Sydney Shitney just tries to hard!

its just another but but excuse to explain why the NRLOL crowds are so crap!
so moron Mal how do you explain why the Minnowbourne Storm's crowds are so shit while the Swans are good?
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million

Good point. This will be point 4.

4. If theres nothing to do in Melbourne but attend sport why do the storm average less than every Melbourne AFL team by quite some distance?

Hi Caitlan X.....Man. I am so impressed that you hold me in such high esteem you start a whole new thread for me !!!!

To answer your questions:

1. Perth and Adelaide are the desert state capitals. They are more bleak than even Bleakbourne. You travel a few kilometres from the CBD and you're in the desert. Those poor devils would turn up in their thousands to watch a Caitlan X......Man live show.....LOLOLOL.

2. RabbleFL followers in Sydney are like you Caitlan......zealots. Their entire following turn up to games, Zombie like, to bow to their masters. Pathetic Sydney TV ratings for RabbleFL prove the point.

3. You've really contorted yourself with this one Caitlan. The Sydney sporting public is much smarter than their RabbleFL counterparts. They will watch their team before or after a bit of sailing or surfing or theatre going. They are not slavishly bound by their Stockholm syndrome upbringing. Having said that the NRL TV ratings are up 30% this year proving how much smarter the average Sydneysider is compared to the poor simpleton Bleakbourne resident.

Hope that helps. And once again thanks for starting my own thread for me. It shows how much respect and admiration you have for me.

LOL. It has nothing to do with you Mal, only your hilarious claims

1. http://www.mapsofworld.com/australia/ci ... h-map.html http://www.mapsofworld.com/australia/ci ... e-map.html
You may want to re-evaluate your definition of a 'few kilometres' there Mal. Seems these maps are either totally misleading or youre completely incorrect. Fail 1 by Mal

2. But arent there so many other things to do in Sydney Mal? Or is that only for RL fans who consider RL an option like doing groceries or getting their haircut? Why do Swans fans consider going to the game more interesting than other options? Fail 2 by Mal

3. So Mal, your claim is RL fans have more interesting things to do than attend RL games. Is watching RL on TV one of their alternative things to do? Because their sailing, surfing and theatre going doesnt seem to stop them watching the TV. Your logic here is really failing. So thats fail number 3 for Mal.

You're going very well there Mal.

What it may be is RL just isnt interesting to watch at the ground. People would prefer to do other more exciting things like fishing, sailing, golf, cleaning the toilet, washing the dishes, painting the fence, mowing the lawn, visiting the dentist. RL just isnt interesting enough in comparison.

How else would you explain it?

according to wookies chart the NRLOL's crowds in shitney are down 17%

keep up with all the but buts, attempting to explain the NRLOL's crowds :))) lets just cut to the chase and say the NRLOL is nowhere near as big as it makes out to be & the majority of its fans are people who watch it on TV every now and then, thanks to the SL wars days, having it shown for years on end in prime time, & every media out let than murdoch & Packer owned!

the sporting or just normal culture in Shitney is just shit!, stupid numptys who thinks Australia starts in canberra & ends on the central coast!

I always wonder of RL is so much better to watch on TV why do they sell out the GF and SOO? That one has always made me ponder. It is a good question however why people do not tend to go in large numbers to many NRL games? Going to a game with lots of people there justs adds that dimension. Maybe it is about just getting it there first - hence why I support giving away tickets - get them in and they will come back. Maybe in AFL the crowd is always known to be largish - not always but you know what I mean - and therefore people are more likely to go - however with NRL - maybe people do not get to sniff that atmosphere enough - and hence there is no draw - whereas for Soo everyone knows it is going to be a big crowd and go for the atmosphere as much as anything eles??? Just a thought

The bit about RL is better to watch on TV is next to just anther but but excuse! Looking at both of the games from a live aspect, the bumsniffing should be a better game to watch as your a liy closer to the action & its played on a much smaller field! when the play is on the other side of the field in an AFL game it is often difficult to see what is exactly going on & the ball when in the AIT gets lost with the objects in the back ground

This is hilarious - is that the same Sydney sporting public that lives in Mt Druit, Blacktown, Campbelltown, Liverpool - greater cesspools you will never find more of - this is why Melb is Australia's sporting capital, comedy centre, Capitol for the arts and entertainment - love how Sydney people like to tell us Melb or Adelaide or Perth are no good and they have such depressed and ugly suburbs. All I can say is stay there in Sydney, you sound like the last person here in Melb!

I think mal is purely tounge in cheek. Melbourne is known for its culture, art, and restaurants. Has a great nightlife scene and hipster central. Oh ... And coffee. Oh the coffee.

No, he's trying to defend a moronic argument. He's either deluded, idiotic or in denial, or all 3

Thank you everyone for your kind words and contributing to my thread. Particular thanks to Caitlan X......Man for giving me the opportunity to educate the Stockholm syndrome suffering poor souls down in Bleakbourne.

I'm sure if they can find the courage to take a peek over the parapet they will see a whole new world out there that doesn't include maniacal devotion to RabbleFL. You can break free.......courage people .....courage!!! The great burghers of Sydney have shown you the way.
