Joint Statement

Parliament House, Canberra

12 October 2011

Blah blah blah blah blah

Sport

23. The Forum agreed to explore the development of junior-level sport competition for young women and men in Papua New Guinea, reflecting the important role sport can play at the community level. The Forum acknowledged the role sport can play, including a junior rugby league competition in the future establishment of a Papua New Guinea team in Australia's National Rugby League competition.

Blah blah blah blah blah
lol, that was the only mention of sport in the whole thing.

Over to you
Why the fuck does anybody bother. You got your fucking source and still won't admit that your metrics showed the opposite of what you intended. And now you can't take it and just keep deflecting.

Fuck me, what's the point. You can't admit that your metrics showed that football was the winner and not League.

So I will ask again what do you metrics show?
Football in NSW
- Football 200,868
- AFL NSW/ACT 28,468
- Rugby League 96,041
- Rugby Union 40,685
Football has 22% more players than the other football codes combined

Sorry but I asked you for sources proving your point across AUSTRALASIA - you know your thread - once again post the sources that RL is the most popular sport across all of Australiasia - stop using ONE country as your benchmark - a country that has 7 mil population yet has only 32,000 registered participants for RL in PNG http://m.nrl.com/rugby-league-program-i ... fault.aspx. Put in perspective NSW a state with equal population has 95,000 registered players and is the lowest of all four codes. Talking up PNG ignores the reality that most of the population more than likely play no sports because they live a traditional lifestyle. But by all means keep ignoring reality!

I posted a source, you asked for a source. You don't like source that is irrelevant you hot a source. Now stop deflecting.

Now let's talk about your metrics, you still want to make your claim that your metrics show rugby league is biggest in Australasia.

AFL you idiot the lowest rank code in that state yet it has 3 times the registered players as PNG does for the most popular - you have exaggerated the importance of the whole of PNG across Australasia - the truth is most of the population plays very little sport as they are subsistence farmers and don't have the time.

Well it's not official gov sources - it is very dubious and they've been known to fudge crowd numbers so I don't think we can place a lot of faith in it but it's all there is.

http://m.nrl.com/rugby-league-program-i ... aspx[quote]The NRL employs 33 Papua New Guinean staff to deliver the program, 42 per cent of whom are female, including two of the four regional Lead Development Officers. The program is also striving to improve opportunities for staff of all abilities, and currently employs a hearing-impaired Development Officer.

To date, League Bilong Laif has reached more than 32,000 participants (48 per cent female) and trained more than 800 teachers (61 per cent female) from more than 80 schools.

Isn't this the same country (and the only country) these RL cats "proudly" claim and boost about is the national sport in PNG?

With those figures who really cares about going on about PNG. All the hype for nothing
