Ok you have been asked where your source of rugby league is the national game of PNG, so far you haven't. You made the claim, you have been asked. You first.

Rugby league is PNG's national sport. They enter a team in the Queensland Cup while NRL players feature in an annual match between Australia's Prime Minister's XIII and the PNG national team each year in Port Moresby in front of a packed house. Such is the passion rugby league generates.

Re: Which is the Most Popular sport in Australasia?
To be a national sport it must be passed as such by the nations parliament. You have not posted this anywhere.
Now you can say it is the most popular and yes it is, but without it being assigned as the national sport by a parliament you are merely saying it is regarded as being the national sport.
In which case that's fine, but it is merely to do with popularity and as such the most popular sports in a nation become the national sport.
Hence why football is the national sort of the three islands I have mentioned.
Your lack of sources are the same as mine. Thanks for playing I enjoy handing your arse to you.

Re: Which is the Most Popular sport in Australasia?
So you claimed wiki said it .
Yet you can't post where .
You're as bad as the AFL mob .
Why do you have to lie porky
It's very easy to get caught out .
Now stop deflecting & post where you claimed that wiki says it's the National sport .
Off you go . No more deflecting .
I've posted 2 sources .
You can't seem to post any despite claiming otherwise .

They are not sources that back your claim, I'm sorry that you can't understand that.
You made a claim you haven't backed it up, now either you are a liar or you honestly believe that a national sport is based not on anything official but people's opinions. If that is the case that's fine, because I have already posted my source as Wikipedia.
Now which is it? Are you a liar or are you arguing that national sport doesn't have to be official but rather someone's opinion?

Re: Which is the Most Popular sport in Australasia?
This country of 74 local dialects all understands one word when it comes to sports, GOAL. Yes, this former British Protectorate has inherited the Europeans' love for football. Football is actually recognized as the national sport of the Solomon Islands with various competitions and leagues running pretty much all year round.
http://www.topendsports.com/world/count ... slands.htm
Now I took that from one of the sites that have been used as a source in is argument to show the difference in words
See the Solomon Islands says "is actually recognised" rather than the PNG one that says "is said to be....."
One is definitive one is not

Re: Which is the Most Popular sport in Australasia?
Stop deflecting
I've already posted about the Solomon Islands .
I am asking for Vanuatu & New Caledonia .
Are you sure you're not a fumblefan .
You have massive avoidance issues like they have .

Is the sport anational sport of a country .. Solomon, New Caledonia and Vanuatu for Football (Soccer), PNG for RL so Football wins
Are therePro or semi pro comps in nations other than Australia . New Zealand and New Caledonia for Football
Are there Multiple players from island nations playing in the premier comp ....followed by their countrymen
Are these comps televised over there .... Don't know
Is there a national team to get behind in international matches . Yep for all countries in Australiasia there are National teams
Are there teams from other countries other than Aust in comps or state comps comp in Aust . Yes
Is the sport Played in schools Yes
Are the international matches televised.
Yes
All my answers in Red are for Football (Soccer) added to that, it is also the most Played sport (and by a LONG way despite what you think AFL Crap it is by a LONG way) in all of the countries except PNG.
So based on your criteria there is little argument that the answer is Football, I know it wasn't the answer you expected but it is the right answer, you know it makes sense
Over to you porky

No it isn't it isn't declared by parliament, Jesus you are thick
Now post your source, look happy for you to be mistaken, happy for you to declare most popular as national or if you continue on you are lying which one.

And so have you, because you don't have a source. So I guess we are equal......oh hang on we are not equal, as Solomon Islands football is a recognised national sport. So I guess it is 1-0.AFLcrap1 wrote:If you can't produce a source for your claim .

I should add one of your criteria was are there player(s) from the country in the highest leagues.
I assume Real Madrid counts, Christian Karembeu from New Caldedonia, I hope that helps
