Re: The "Barassi Line"
Touch Rugby is also controlled in France by RL now I think and in England the RFL have really stepped it up, good moves if you ask me, I can see touch being in the Olympics as it ticks every single box already.

Also lol @ Rugby league talking about experiences again.
Total club players for the NRL - 179,506 (and not even 10.5k outside NSW/QLD)
Total club players for the AFL - 336,108
Total clubs for the NRl - 1,077 in NSW, QLD, no specified number for the rest. Perhaps league should be concerned that they lost 50 clubs in 2015 in Qld alone, and another 40 odd in country NSW.
Total clubs for the AFL - 2,763
I would argue Rugby Union has successfully crossed the Barassi line more so than AFL, mind you Barassi himself couldn't cross it, being a complete failure at GWS.

Amount to nothing? How so? Re: The "Barassi Line"
There is a huge difference between sensationalising a story, like the News Ltd press are prone to do. And outright lies, which was the case with the Artsy Fartsy League and it lies at Birchgrove and the previous years Annul report. It not only claimed there was 80m in there future fund it also claimed that the money had never been touched .The_Wookie wrote:It really is funny how much you believe the media when you want to isnt it. One news limited media report on an AFL fund and its gospel. When news limited reports on the NRl though its all full of shit. The hypocrisy is amazing.pussycat wrote:

At least they didn't tell outright lies like the AFL did at Birchgrove oval or make claims that there 80m in there future fund.

Your a fucking two faced bullshit artist of the highest order on this forum. Ill grant the particpation numbers supplied werent the right ones for Birchgrove, but almost nothing else about that saga is true as reported in the fucking fairfax press whose editor had a fucking stake in the soccer club that was going to be affected.
But where were you at when the media claimed the NRLs financial reserves were nowhere near what they should be? I bet you just accepted that was the case didnt you. Didnt argue the point at all I bet.
The article came from several sources - the main one being the Australian (where they all bull shitting?)
What does it matter what the bloke had or done? They claimed they had hundreds. when push came to shove they admitted they only had a hand full.
I suspect I did. When I first read the article. But the NRL were quick to correct any miss information.
