A little true fact about AFL games in New Zealand.

2013 AFL game crowd 22,546

2015 AFL game crowd 12,125

The fall in numbers is that bad that AFL has canned any future games in Wellington and plans to give Auckland a try in the future instead.

Really shows AFL is still very much a novelty game in NZ. And it is well known alot of those tickets were not paid for.

Then you look at Perth where Rugby League has zero presence like AFL in NZ and Souths have been getting 20,000 plus crowds 3 years in a row there.

GREATER Western Sydney's off-field departures have reached a worrying level, with a high-powered director quitting and pulling $1million of funding allocated for 2016.

Following a dispute with chief executive David Matthews, influential board member Paul Moore has walked out on the League's newest club.

It is believed Moore's decision stems from a belief that the money he provided the Giants – money which he requested be invested in Giants academy and grass roots programs – was being spent elsewhere.

Moore also provided money to the Sydney Swans' player academy and the Swans will lose that funding on the back of Moore's decision.

Moore has pumped more than $2 million into both clubs' operations in the past four years, and had increased his commitment up to $1 million for 2016 before his decision to cease involvement.

In the recent past, list chief Stephen Silvagni, head of football Graeme Allan and welfare boss Craig Lambert have exited the Giants.

All three have been crucial in player retention at the club, which has seen Tom Boyd, Adam Treloar and Taylor Adams seek new football homes in the past three years.

Forward Cam McCarthy does not want to play again for the Giants.

The next player retention challenge is 2012 No.1 draft pick Lachie Whitfield, who has already received significant offers to return to Victoria.

what? The bottom 6 has included 3 expansion clubs in recent years'. Brisbane abd the suns will probably still be there this year

Yes & has been explained before .
When there were 2 expansion teams it was easy to ensure that they both took turns at doing well .

With 4 it is much more difficult .
Can't ensure the whole lot are doing well at the same time .
Someone misses out .
