Re: How long before Flogball averages bigger crowds than RL in Australia?
Not that hard really imo, I haven't had a problem but I don't live in Sydney so when I go, I've more or less plan ahead. Others might have a different opinion if they live somewhere where they need to change 3 buses and trains with all the rest, that would give me the shits.
I can go from the gong straight to central by train or car and be there in about 90 mins longer on a train these days but around that, then jump on the train out west, or I can go straight from the Gong and head towards Campbelltown which is quicker and make my way so not too hard if planned. Living in the dump probably is another story esp if you drive.

You seem to think the eels are the sort of club that will hover around what the figures they have now, I dunno why, the eels are just turning the corner after a near decade of abject failure and their crowds still hold up against any of the crowds you throw at them from their heartland.
If Wests fans or bulldog fans have right to turn up to anz and watch the eels take on their team, all good, it happens in other sports and no one bats an eyelid, it's why the vfl then AFL have been so successful in a way in building their crowds when they were stuck around the same average for a fair while, they made the changes and their crowds grew. The NRL and its clubs are just starting to work all this out. Not my fault if the soccer mob don't want to make a bit of extra money by going to anz, they say they could but they have never tested the waters, so how they can say this doesn't add up without actually giving it a shot.
What's to lose if the stadium are going to pay, play one match against Sydney and see what happens.
They will be playing two derbies there next year so we are bound to find out. I don't like the idea of reciprocal rights, nor do I like the idea of centralised stadiums (3 clubs of the same code playing out of the same ground)
Home advantage should and is a big thing, how can it become a fortress when you let another club play there the next week?
Just a different way of looking at it, I like the intimidating atmosphere of Wanderland, it does however make a loss there worse.
Sorry mate but I don't think Parra fan base is going to grow above a natural rate of increase (ie population) I just don't see it happening. (My opinion that's all)

Not like GWS ever got crowds to justify 3 grounds. I would argue that SOO and Socceroos alone justify the crowd levels for ANZ to be made into a rectangle (throw in the Wallabies as well)The_Wookie wrote:Might be time you guys and soccer got the crowds to justify it then too.ParraEelsNRL wrote:It should never have been allowed to be an oval, it just didn't make sense anyway you looked at it, the joint pleased no one when it why trying to please everyone. The swans have the updated world class SCG, the new mob have a new stadium in two suburbs one in Canberra and barely play in any of them, they should make their mind up where and what they want to be.
Time for the cities favoured codes to get some shiny new grounds as has happened everywhere else all over Australia when it comes to new Cricket-AFL ovals.
Sorry I might need to explain that to you, the Socceroos and Wallabies are National teams (sorry i know AFL have trouble there) and SOO is probably regarded as the the biggest rugby league game in the world.
So yes thank you, we do fill it.

Wookie ANZ is the Olympic stadium, it was built with a running track around it, it had to be built as an oval, I know you think the AFL has some reach but I don't think they influence the IOC at all.The_Wookie wrote:Not like those grounds were ever built just for GWS either. Dont need your apology, even with your national teams and origins, the AFL still smashed all three of you last year for attendances.Sorry I might need to explain that to you, the Socceroos and Wallabies are National teams (sorry i know AFL have trouble there) and SOO is probably regarded as the the biggest rugby league game in the world.

What a whinge maybe if your fans turned up there would be a need, the Sydney Football Stadium is rectangular yet you never fill that, You can fill ANZ when it's SOO or a GF - the real problem is unless its an event or a gimmick RL supporters would rather sit on the couch drinking beer and giving the misses a backhand for not waiting for an add break to talk! Sorry but that's the fact of the matterParraEelsNRL wrote:It should never have been allowed to be an oval, it just didn't make sense anyway you looked at it, the joint pleased no one when it why trying to please everyone. But but but but they don't deserve a new stadium because they don't average 30k yet, so why should the eels get a new 30k stadium he says?
Well they do average 30k up the road when they do take their games to a stadium with a capacity above 30k, aye Dingb@t.

I wasn't arguing that it is what builds stadiums, I was arguing the claim that AFL smashed all three (football included) last year. I simply said ICC to counteract the claim of smashing.The_Wookie wrote:Ah see you've fallen for the one or two matches makes you bigger than the AFL thing. your minnow eels average 12k at parramatta stadium and 30k at ANZ for the odd game played there
the lazy 58k is from 7 games and some of those appearances was from a few GF to make the average higher that what it really is

at what point do you need to be convinced thickshit that the eels are a minnow irrelevant piece of shit! all the crap you put on the swans and GWS and other AFL clubs, your club is a pathetic joke of a size & that include the rest of the NSW based NRLOL clubs, they have been around for decades and have nothing but a fucken joke sized fan base to go along with it

Took your time responding dingb@t.
The averages are what they are, 30k at anz, you move those games back to parramatta with a stadium able to hold those crowds, why shouldn't they be added to the average, the ground is next fucking door more or less.
