Is only Melbourners that see it as a rivalry with Sydney.

Hate to burst your your bubble, but most people in Sydney see Melbourne as so irrelevant that they we don't even notice the place.

Your not a holiday destination and have no decent surfing beaches.

Melbourne is pretty much invisible and not even on the radar. Queensland is in the media alot more here. Sporting rivalries, great holiday destinations.

Same with us. Qld is the holiday destination we talk about, not NSW. As for surf, you obviously dont do any, ever heard of Bell's beach? LOL

Our sporting rivals are Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane. This is because the AFL is national not just eastern Australia like RL

Melbourne is also the world's most liveable city year after year, and the sporting capital of Australia by a country mile

No decent surfing beaches? WTF?
Yes are no close surfing beaches from Melbourne city for miles. Is so shit.

Tell me a good surfing beach as close to the city centre as Bondi, Tamarama, Bronte, Clovelly, Coogee, Manly, Curl Curl, Dee Why. I could go on for ages with this list.

Melbourne has none.. :thumbleft:

What are you talking about, is all Melbourners care more than anything. Every single Sydney Melbourne arguement on forums like this is always started by a Melbourne person. You guys are so insecure knowing that your not the best city..

If Melbourne is so good why are 9 out of the top 10 most expensive suburbs in Sydney?

Like anything people will pay more money for something that is better.

AUSTRALIAS TOP 10 MOST VALUABLE SUBURBS

1st Darling Point (Sydney)

2nd Box Hill (Sydney)

3rd Bellevue Hill (Sydney)

4th Vaucluse (Sydney)

5th Toorak (Melbourne)

6th Tamarama (Sydney)

7th Double Bay (Sydney)

8th Dover Heights (Sydney)

9th McMahons Point (Sydney)

10th Longueville (Sydney)

SO LETS SEE, MELBOURNE CAN'T EVEN GET IN THE TOP 4 MOST VALUABLE SUBURBS.

MELBOURNE HAS ONLY ONE LONESOME SUBURB IN THE TOP 10 MOST VALUABLE AREAS. :(/ How shit are they haha!! =D> =D>

And where is the PM official residence?
Wow that's right. The Lodge on Sydney Harbour. Not Melbourne.

Short drive down the Peninsula does the trick, but you will need a car and a licence for that, ruling you out.
Yep it is official, you are more stupid than I realised.

Melbourne is outgrowing Sydney and has been for a while. In fact it is predicted to be Australias largest city in around 2040. Better roads and transport, better arts and dining, better sport, better facilities. Everyone knows Sydney is way over priced for what you get. The suburbs around the harbour are nice but the rest of the city is a shambles

THAT IS LIKE SAYING A FERRARI IS OVERPRICED COMPARED TO A HYANDAI.

Facts are facts, people pay more for something that is better. That is clearly the case with Sydneys property values compared to Melbourne.

Mate you guys are'nt even in the same ball park of Sydney. Your not even competion. Your too inferior lol.. Like Mexico compared to the United States  .
That is why we call Melbourners Mexicans.

As for melbourne becoming bigger than Sydney. A turd is bigger than a diamond. Does that make it better??

=D>
granted your suburbs surrounding the harbour are nice, but they are also unaffordable for the vast majority of Australians. You cant gauge a city of 5 million people based on 9 suburbs. These cities are rated on numerous indicators every year, and Melbourne beats Sydney every time

http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/melbo ... j1he8.html The rankings are the result of scores for "lifestyle challenges" in 140 cities worldwide, and issues such as housing affordability are not considered.

Each of the cities chosen is assigned a rating of "relative comfort" for 30 factors across five categories: stability; healthcare; culture and environment; education; and infrastructure.
Each factor in a city is then rated as acceptable, tolerable, uncomfortable, undesirable or intolerable, to reach a score out of 100.
Melbourne this year scored 97.5 marks out of 100, including full marks for infrastructure.
