I don't think there is fear of a sport which despite being 50 years older than Rugby League, is still only in one country.

I dated a chick that was a mad Swans fans and tried to give AFL a chance but there are too many things I don't like about the sport.

THINGS I DON'T LIKE ABOUT AFL -

*The all male choir team songs they play at the end of each AFL match. They sound beyond bad. I honestly thought it was a piss take the first time I heard it.

*The tiny shorts and femin singlets. Uniforms are so shit.

*The point for missing a shot at goal. (Should be no extra side goals in any sport)

*The constant fumbling, drop balls and silly wrestling they do.

*The elbowing and pushing. Bad sportsmanship. You would get a punch in the mouth if you did that in any other contact sport for sure.

*The dumb ball bounce by the referee.

*The bridesmaid style throw behind when the ball goes out.

*The no cheerleader policy because of AFL bowing to minority groups. Cheerleaders are a great part of the atmosphere. Work well in NFL and NRL.

*Those ridiculous umpires behind the goals that do all those fingure signs. So funny!

*The people behind the goals with all those streamers. Give me cheerleaders anyday of those fools!!

*Also I find AFL really boring. Kinda puts me to sleep

I do enjoy other sports though. I like the Soccer, The Grid Iron, Tennis, Ice Hockey, Baseball.

But like a lot of Rugby League fans, I will watch American Football before I would watch AFL. This is why Jarryd Hayne got so much more good publicity going to NFL compared to the bad publicity Hunt an Izzy got for going to AFL.

Too many other things to mention but they are a few.

I do enjoy other sports though. I like the Soccer, The Grid Iron, Tennis, Ice Hockey, Baseball.

But like a lot of Rugby League fans, I will watch American Football before I would watch AFL. This is why Jarryd Hayne got so much more good publicity going to NFL compared to the bad publicity Hunt an Izzy got for going to AFL.

AFL is just a code we don't really take seriously as a real sport.

Nothing revealing about Lycra in sports. Plenty of athletes wear it. Incuding 100 metre sprinters.

I agree Sydney is too congested. A problem all big cities have. As for dirty, Melbourne is no cleaner.

I told you before. Melbourne is not even on the radar for the average Sydney sider. Your unimportant and not even noticed.

Well your new but I grew up in Manly - lived there until 24 then moved to Melb for work - have live on the Peninsular, in the Valley, the Malley and now in the City. The Yarra is the Yarra and is like most rivers - but it doesn't smell - like I said earlier it usually boils down to preferences doesn't it just like your choice of sport. I grew up playing RU and soccer, I came to AF in my teens but feel in love with the game due to the open play and back, centre or fwd everyone can influence a game. But again it's personal preference. People in Melb don't have any issue with Syd, (or RL for that matter) the local sports radio station SEN has news, segments and guests on all there programming and its owned by AFL people. But every Syd person goes off about GWS, Cola, Issy Folau etc etc. like it's just a game and whatever the AFL has done so has RL.
