Pretty stupid on the NRLs part.
Not sure why they don't just get Todd Greenberg. He seems very capable.
If not Todd, someone that has financial and marketing experience in the NFL would be ideal. The two sports have alot of similarities.
You watch NFL and so much is put into the entertainment, promotion and spectacle of the game. You can see the NRL look to NFL as the benchmark to what they want to do as a sporting identity. NOT AFL.
Yep, fireworks and dancing girls for crowds of 6k, looks more like desperation to make the sport look entertaining because as we know the game it's self just doesn't cut the mustard.
AFL can get crowds of 80k+ without any Americanised crap.
State of Origin got 91,000 in Melbourne. A crowd AFL has never ever gotten even close to in NSW or QLD.
AFL having an international cup that has zero credibility and no tv coverage is what you call desperate
AFL buying Izzy for the Giants to get Islanders in AFL is what you call desperate. (FAILED MASSIVELY).
I just see the NFL as a much better run organization than the AFL.
AFL is pretty much just an embarrassment.
