Membership Milestone
The outpouring of support from the Essendon family continues to gain momentum with the Club today surpassing 40,000 members.
It’s only the second time in the Club’s 142 year history the milestone has been passed in the month of January.
The Club’s official membership tally currently sits at 40,772, compared to 40,144 at the same time last year.
CEO Xavier Campbell said the Club’s members continue to show their true colours.
“Our players, coaches and staff are truly grateful to our members for their loyalty, passion and commitment to the Club, particularly during such a challenging period,” Campbell said.
“Over the past 48 hours our call centre has been inundated with more than 1,500 members signing up for the 2016 season.
“As a Club we know we will get through this challenging period together, our members make us stronger and continue to show they’re behind us on this journey.”
Members and supporters will have the chance to show their support for the players at tomorrow morning’s open training session at the True Value Solar Centre at 9.45am.
good to see the supporters get behind one of the largest football clubs in Australia in its darkest hr.

Revealed: Shire pizza shop owner turned Cronulla Sharks football club saviour
THE identity of the mystery man who has invested $3.5 million cash to save the Cronulla Sharks can finally be revealed … he’s a pizza shop owner.
The secret benefactor is retired 60-year-old Shire businessman and owner of Al’s Pizzas, Paul Ellems, a long time supporter of the club.
His recent cash injection secured Cronulla’s NRL future by allowing the board to clear all remaining debts with the St George Bank.
