Ill tell you why these "close to full stadiums" werent mentioned. Both stadiums werent even 2/3rds full.

Brookvales capacity is listed at 23,000. Attendance was 14,881. Not close to full.
Penrith stadium capacity is listed at 22,500. The Crowd was 14,068. Not close to full.

Also

Wollogong Showgrounds capacity is listed at 23,750. The Crowd was 11,813. Almost half full.

and yes GWS crowds are a concern...but then again the Club is barely 4 years old, and only three of those in top competition.
Grounds as in Brooky, panthers, Shark Park Leichhardt etc etc

To reach its full capacity, It literally has to be a SQUASH FEST, with 60% of the attendance STANDING
to hit that sold out figure..

That's Right Standing--- An Absoloute Joke! (No comfort as you watch your team play)

around 15-18k to these grounds is how much it should fit, otherwise its a big joke for the fans at the ground.
Lucky to see the ground, with everyone in your way,

A Huge Disaster if it rains, as half the grounds are grass, and everything turns to mud.

that's why the big decline when it rains.

Yeah glad it did not rain, suburban stadiums are farked when the weather is bad.

He is right with stadium capacities, but I would hate to be at Brookvale with 23,000 people.
Everyone standing on the hill would not have fit in the stadium.

I was there yesterday and the hill was near capacity. Look at the match review Wooks. There is very little room.

Glad we got a win. They even had a minutes silence for that Adelaide coach that was murdered.
Shows the NRL and the AFL are as one when it comes to tragedy and family violence.

But he is not right with the capacities.

They are old figures you will not see reached again until the places are rebuilt and they haven't had the capacity to reach these numbers in years. Just look at all the biggest crowds at the sub grounds, stuff all recent records even though the League has grown twice/three times as big as it was decades ago.

Is talk of Brookvale being upgraded eventually. I know for a fact it will never work if they put all home games in Homebush. Sea Eagles fans love the local home ground too much.

The usual SOO rot about crowds .

Many players out on rep duty ,so the crowd wasn't too bad.
Incidentally the last 3 games (2 aflol 1 NRL) there before this one funnily enough the NRL had the biggest crowd .

Geez RL in Melb just beat every game of Aflol for crowds this yr ,yet somehow an 11 k crowd in Soo time is bad .

We take the good with the bad.
You gain plenty from rep footy .
You also lose in other areas .

It evens out .
But the big big bonus is the meltdown/ rant threads / grasping at straws by the fumblers during SOO .

Yep and has been said before - 2 games of RL this year over 50k and both are SOO - hahaha yep without SOO RL is going down hill!!! By the way the games you have referred to have not been over 10k. And the record for the ground is now held by AFL - that's a disappointment eh crapper!

You must have taken some heavy artillary fire in the army  - You've really lost touch with reality. Isn't your medication working???????????????????? Last year the Swans made a profit of $847 thousand - Souths made a profit of $2m. If you include league's club grants most Sydney clubs made millions,

Maybe in your world $847k is more than $2m - But we dont live in a pretend world.

No mention of league club grant for South. For Canterbury they said they made a profit last year (2013) of $5m and were expecting a bigger profit this year, that included a grant from the leagues club . But its hard to imagine the grant is $5m.

And you still don't get it that even tho most of these clubs are called either League's clubs or Rugby League's club, they don't just support the sport of Rugby League, they are community clubs that support all the sports in their local community. Some of the local AFL clubs down here get help from League's clubs the same as the local Hockey, Netball, Cricket, Basketball blah blah blah blah blah how many sports are played out there???? all get the same support from the juniors all the way up to the seniors.

yeah i get it! that why when ever you go to the pubs, the rugby league up here in central qld they always have meat raffles & drink give awauy to support local league, to help keep the costs of insurance and ground hire down.

the only thing those league clubs to is provide a place for families to eat and grab a few drinks & a place to people watch the game for! the fucken councils pay pay for the maintenance of the fields, all those league clubs pay for is the rent next to the playing field.

now back to it the NRLOL clubs are nothing but utter worthless pieces of shit. for the 15 odd million cost to run an NRLOL club they get the 9 odd million from the commission, the rest comes from their piss ant sized membership and sponsorship levels followed by a tax deduction and out from the parent leagues club

considering they needs more than double than double the amount to meet the running costs of an AFL club as to an NRLOL club.

the AFL has seen this and putting in a salary cap for football expenditure.

the NRLOL clubs earning ability is a fucken joke at best, it makes the established AFL minnows look like giants whens compared to the NRLOL clubs :thumbleft:
