Penrith vs Souths and Manly vs Cronulla both had close to full stadiums this weekend. But that never gets mentioned does it.

I'd me more worried about money drain GWS Giants crowds. They promote the shit out of their games more than the NRL does here and still getting little interest or community support.

Ill tell you why these "close to full stadiums" werent mentioned. Both stadiums werent even 2/3rds full.

Brookvales capacity is listed at 23,000. Attendance was 14,881. Not close to full.
Penrith stadium capacity is listed at 22,500. The Crowd was 14,068. Not close to full.

Also

Wollogong Showgrounds capacity is listed at 23,750. The Crowd was 11,813. Almost half full.

and yes GWS crowds are a concern...but then again the Club is barely 4 years old, and only three of those in top competition.

Grounds as in Brooky, panthers, Shark Park Leichhardt etc etc

To reach its full capacity, It literally has to be a SQUASH FEST, with 60% of the attendance STANDING
to hit that sold out figure..

Everyone standing on the hill would not have fit in the stadium.

I was there yesterday and the hill was near capacity. Look at the match review Wooks. There is very little room.

No mention of league club grant for South. For Canterbury they said they made a profit last year (2013) of $5m and were expecting a bigger profit this year, that included a grant from the leagues club . But its hard to imagine the grant is $5m.

Some of the local AFL clubs down here get help from League's clubs the same as the local Hockey, Netball, Cricket, Basketball blah blah blah blah blah how many sports are played out there???? all get the same support from the juniors all the way up to the seniors.

yeah i get it! that why when ever you go to the pubs, the rugby league up here in central qld they always have meat raffles & drink give awauy to support local league, to help keep the costs of insurance and ground hire down.

the only thing those league clubs to is provide a place for families to eat and grab a few drinks & a place to people watch the game for! the fucken councils pay pay for the maintenance of the fields, all those league clubs pay for is the rent next to the playing field.

now back to it the NRLOL clubs are nothing but utter worthless pieces of shit. for the 15 odd million cost to run an NRLOL club they get the 9 odd million from the commission, the rest comes from their piss ant sized membership and sponsorship levels followed by a tax deduction and out from the parent leagues club
