The AFL and its fans are renowned for overestimating the reach of and interest in marngrook across the nation. And it's costing em big time.
The comp is lopsided. The chasm between the quality of sides in the top 5 and bottom five is ginormous.
The expansion teams are money sucking leeches beyond the AFL's worst nighmares.
There are 6 blithering basketcase clubs.
All this because some idiots down at AFL hq thought the game would be , as demetrious said, the game of choice for all australian men"

Additionally the AFL has who knows how many clubs who have cheated with drug enhancements and tanking recently.... Essendon and melbs simply have to go. They deserve to be shown the door but they'll also never recover anyway.
So on second thoughts, with all things considered, I change my nomination from four teams to eight teams that have to go. The AFL and marngrook in Australia simply can't sustain more than 10 quality pro teams across the nation, there's just not enough talent or interest.
