Victoria is still a sterile source of rugby league talent for NRL clubs. Bugger all find there way onto senior list. Bugger all draftees, or whatever you want to call them.

Meanwhile, NSW/ACT is producing new talent in spades for the AFL.

GWS -and, yes, this thread is about GWS- just last year drafted Jack Steele and Jeremy Finlayson and there are more in the academy pipeline

Two players in one year to one club. Storm have done precious little to develop draftable talent in Victoria.

Maybe they ought to. Then RL may grow in Victoria.
In round 23 2012, Mahe Fonua became the first Victorian-born and bred player to play in the NRL when he made his debut for Melbourne Storm. He played his junior career for South East Titans (formerly Berwick Bulldogs) in the Victorian Rugby League.[43][44]
http://www.sportal.com.au/league/news/l ... zn6dl8p6qu

at this rate the NRL might get their second player from Victoria :\:
What is extraordinary about the Fonua signing ...I mean DRAFTING ... is that it has taken an NRL club so long to attract a player from Victoria to its roster ...I mean SENIOR LIST.

Let's not forget what this thread is about. Above is the starting post.

This thread is not about how AFL draftees from NSW/ACT wildly outnumber NRL draftees from Victoria.

Its about the rising fortunes of GWS in western Sydney.

To me, the AFL lexis is more natural -and easier to use when comparing codes- than the NRL lexis.

I will keep doing what I do.

Collingwood punched a huge hole in GWS last weekend but that creates huge opportunities for NSW/ACT draftee Jack Steele who will debut next weekend.

Nah, bullshit, KE.

Crapper's been insisting I said the NRL had a National Draft.

I didn't.

And the vacuous brained ant hasn't got the nous to find a post of mine to support his empty assertions. If I'd said the NRL had a National Draft he would have copied and recopied the post.

Such a fictitious post doesn't exist.

He is opportunistically putting words into my mouth. He is a waste of time and space.

And he is boring.

I have highlighted where you claim there is a NRL draft .

Victoria hasn't produced enough NRL draftees to start counting, yet.

We will start counting when the number rises to 2.

&

I do have a thorough knowledge of NRL, Crapper. I live in Redfern, NSW, Rabbitohs heartland,

The NRL draft process is a much looser mechanism than the AFL's strictly controlled process, but it is a draft nevertheless.

Lol & again .

How many young Victorian athletes did the Storm draft in 2014

Crapper, you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT !!!!!

There is NO National Draft or Central Draft in the NRL. Never said there was. So I don't know why you keep on about it.

I have only talked about the paucity of players drafted into NRL clubs from Victoria.

And if you don't like me using the generic and concise verb "drafted" to describe the process of getting a player to sign a contract with an NRL club, I don't care !

So, get used to it, and stop being boring.

You continually talk about the Nrl draft or draft process ,then claim you didn't say it .

Oh my .

There is something seriously wrong with you AFLol fans .

You got caught out Bruce ,then denied it, then still deny it even after I posted plenty of examples of you talking about the NRL draft .
Simple fact is
THERE IS NO DRAFT IN THE NRL .
No matter how many times you say it ,it won't make it true .

Better luck next time champ .
