Dominated for years.

they won the G.F in 1999
and did nothing until 2006
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne_Storm

Since they began theyve finished: 3, 3, 6, 9, 10, 5, 6, 6, 1, 1, 1, 4, 16 (2), 1, 2, 3, 6

So theyve missed the finals only 3 times in 17 years, and one was due to sanctions, and have made the top 4 a massive 9 times or over 50%! Plus theyre on top again

Nah, no domination there :[]

Ok they have dominated, but as I stated I was meaning Grand FInals

as I said they won in 1999 and from 2006 have been a FORCE

what about my other points.

IF THE NRL wanted to look after Melbourne storm so much.
how come they were fined Strip of points (losing millions of sponsorship
playing a whole season for nothing...
Striped of Titles ETC ETC>>>

for 3 years now they have been owed by a outside company.
and have had 3 years still being a Force.

News limited owning the Storm
had nothing to do with the NRL

why do you think News Limited are now long gone from Rugby League

It is because the NRL could not wait to see the back of them

THEY DESTROYED RUGBY LEAGUE

SOMETHING A MEXICAN like yourself has no idea about.

stripping Melbourne of their GFs created an us v them mentality, it didnt really damage them because they just kept winning. Their constant success was made possible by the NRL's owners, all to benefit TV ratings in Australias second biggest market

Yep pretty sure we have many old threads here on the Storm's financial handouts from the NRL which have resulted in their virtual dominance of the NRL since their inception. Yet like you say, league flogs will try tell you their comp isn't rigged. Only happens in the AFL apparently

That aside and back on topic, how good do the Giants look this year? Thinking on going out to see them this weekend.

Isn't rigged, but the AFL have given the Giants a tonne of concessions to help them become successful on the field. AFL see the Giants being successful will help them actually get support.

I still can't see multicultural Blacktown getting into a sport that is pretty much only played by gangly white Aussies.

They gave them draft picks to develop a team. The alternative was to allow them to take players from every team which would have been even more unfair

Gees Bruce, I nearly ended up watching the Giants vs Crows at the same pub yesterday with KE and another AFL fan. Ended up at Redfern RSL instead. Small world eh.

Happy to report AFL was on most of the TVs with volume at the RSL too. :thumbleft:

The big TV in the lounge at the Tudor Hotel has a sign near it: SYDNEY SWANS - ALL GAMES, LIVE & LOUD, HERE.

Of course, they will pump the volume up really loud if you ask. They love to attract the AFL crowd.

Better behaved than that League mob.

Redfern RSL is OK. When I'm watching my footy, I prefer a dedicated AFL area like the Tudor. And its not as crowded as the Alexandria Hotel. And the food is damned better, too :D

Maybe see you there one day! And KE, too!

God help me !!!!!!!!

I was yarning with my mate, George, at the Woolpack Hotel, yesterday afternoon.

Good bloke, George. Used to play Under 19s for St Kilda a long time ago.

He raised the prospect of an AFL Grand Final between the Swans and GWS.

Crikey! You know, there is an outside chance that could happen!
