That is what the thread is about .
maybe, but it reflects the strength of football in the state and city, not one specific region.

As for Mastrer's comment, he limits the criteria of players he is talking about to school paricipants, playing full rules, and on a full size ground (knowing full well the AFL play a altered game up to yr9) and then says 'probably more'

Hilarious :_<>

it was a preliminary count of numbers in the region which was requested b the council, not a final application for use of the grounds. So they were diligent about their numbers, who cares given they werent interested in using the facilities anyway

The high school that unearthed a lode of rugby league talent in Benny Elias, Paul Sironen and more recently, Mitchell Moses, Luke Brooks and Curtis Sironen has withdrawn from NSW's top schoolboy competition, only to be replaced by a team from the outer suburbs of Melbourne.

Holy Cross Ryde has exited the GIO Cup, an elite 12-school NSW competition, owing to its expected failure to be competitive in 2015, with Hallam Senior College in Melbourne, the school that produced NRL players Mahe Fonua and Kenny Bromwich, taking its place.

Hallam, which played in the second-tier Schoolboy Trophy, a 260-school competition, has been promoted following success in the play-offs the past four years, including a televised semi-final last year. They will now meet Matraville Sports High school in mid-May, in a round-robin of traditional juggernauts, including Westfields Sports High and Patrician Brothers, Blacktown. :\: :\: :\: :\: :\:

Matt Schubert, the NRL's school programs co-ordinator, says, "We're not sure about the impact of a draft. We're meeting soon with (the NRL's head of game development) Shane Richardson to discuss it. We're meeting with the school principals as well. The NRL clubs really support these schools."

Asked how rugby league at the elite level was competing with the millions of dollars poured in by the AFL in the vast territory of the GWS Giants, Schubert said, "Our school programs are definitely on the up in western Sydney."

The reality is that, in terms of schoolboy games played on an adult-sized field with senior rules, as opposed to kids playing modified rules, there are probably more participants in rugby league in outer Melbourne than with AFL in western Sydney.
I even highlighted the bit where Matt Schubert stated it .
Yet you mongs go Roy Roy Roy said this .
Roy said that .

Have any of you twits got any comprehension or basic reading skills .?

hang on, youre calling me stupid? The second highlighted part does not appear to be a quote as it isnt in quotation marks. It is therefore Master's comment

where are your comprehension skills?

How do you know the second part was part of his answer when it doesnt show the comment in quotation marks? Are you guessing?

In fact he wasnt asked to comment on RL in Melbourne so IMO its very unlikely this is his comment. Its clearly master's comment.

Anyway, the point is rubbish anyway because it isnt supported by numbers, only 'probably', it only refers to a small category, and it contradicts the results showing many AFL players coming from NSW and few if any NRL players coming from Vic

Sydney, alone, does not define NSW, Dave. Our sky-blue state's southern border is the Murray River. You cannot chop bits off it so what remains fits your distorted narrative. Riverina people live in New South Wales, too.

Of the 14 Swans players from NSW/ACT, 9 are from Sydney and 5 are from country NSW.

Of the 5 country NSW players, 3 are from the north: Craig Bird and Isaac Heeney are from the Hunter region, and Sam Naismith (205cm, 104kg; He's not your "skinny little white Sheila") is from Gunnedah.

The remaining 2, Harry Cunningham and Ben McGlynn are from the part of NSW you like to exclude: the Riverina.

These proportions closely match the population distribution of NSW/ACT.

Furthermore, GWS's 8 NSW/ACT players include 2 from Western Sydney: Dylan Addison and Jeremy Finlayson.

A good result for the first three formative years of GWS's academy.

Steve Sharp has a lot to be worried about.
