Fiji will have a NSW CUP rugby league team in 2016

Only just found this out. While AFL continues to struggle to get Pacific Island Nations into their sport.

Fiji will have a team competing in in the NSW cup in 2016. This will only increase the support for Rugby League in smaller Pacific nations and is a great thing for the sport.

Ah the jealousy of AFL fans. Islanders are great athletes and a lot of the top NRL players are of Fijian decent which proves they like Rugby League.

Fiji has a polulation of close to 900,000 people. Plenty of potential support there.

No other nation even plays AFL or has taken any real interest in the sport. AFL is pretty much only played by and taken seriously by white Australians and some indigenous players.

The amount of future talent in Fiji available to the NRL is really exciting.
Those guys remind me of some of the top African American athletes playing the NFL. Fast, Strong and Agile.
